Rich will deflect Kerry taxes, Bush says

By Bill Sammon
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Published August 1, 2004

CANTON, Ohio -- President Bush yesterday said Sen. John Kerry would fail in his attempt to raise taxes on rich Americans because their accountants would deflect the tax burden onto the middle class.

"He said he's only going to raise the tax on the so-called rich," Mr. Bush told thousands of supporters in Stark County, a crucial Ohio swing district, "but you know how the rich [are]: They've got accountants.

"That means you pay," he added. "That means your small business pays; it means the farmers and the ranchers pay. That's the wrong medicine for this economy, and we're not going to let him prescribe it."

BUsh's best weapons over the next 3 months:

Common sense on the economy (Tax cuts grow economy)
Common sense on foreign policy (Only way to defeat terrorists is to destroy them)

Bush wins this election because common sense, and John Kerry's lack of it, will trump the day.

Those solutions don't require congress being in perpetual session. I can't think of many things that require such attention by congress. That doesn't mean they don't need solving, but the ones doing the solving don't need congress in session to do so.

P.S. Based on the actions of the current congress, THEY don't seem to think we need solid republican solutions.

Water cooler truism bump.

Corporations do not pay taxes, buyers of the product do. Taxes are built into the cost of production. For crying out loud, if corporations were required to eat the ever increasing tax bite without passing along the increase to the purchaser, they would all be declaring chapter something or other.

"This is just another misleading assertion to distract attention from the real issues of this campaign, like health care."

Kerry is reportedly famous for changing subjects when he gets pinned. Seems his campaign is following suit. W nailed them on taxes and they try to shift to health care.

Deserves repeating. Populism stinks.

So unbelievably true and a good move by Bush.

Kerry tried to bring down Nixon who had a "secret plan" for ending the war. And here he is, with a secret plan for ending the economy
LOL! How true!

History shows that Nixon intended to negotiate with the Communists. History also shows that American journalism was functioning as representatives of the Communists, but with no authority to grant any concessions on behalf of the Communists.

"Nixon claims he has a secret plan" was just the way that journalism attempted bully Nixon into the classic mistake of publicly negotiating with people who cannot give you what you want and need.

"Nixon Claims He Has Secret Plan" headlines were simply journalism's attempt to force Nixon into a preemptive surrender which would have doomed his candidacy.

Why Broadcast Journalism is
Unnecessary and Illegitimate

I have a different take on this. Isn't Bush admitting that this is what the rich have been doing all along? Isn't that what the demonrats have been complaining about: That the rich don't pay their fare share of taxes?

He should be talking about tax code reform instead of playing into the class envy game.

We need to ratchet up the call for Theresa to release her tax records. It is pretty relevent considering Kerry's soak the rich rhetoric.

I think this one can backfire on Bush. Isn't this what the dems have been complaining about? The rich have ways of not paying taxes and that leaves the burden on the middle class? Why isn't Bush talking about reducing the size of government not constantly figuring out a way to pay for the increases in government spending?

What else do you expect? Kerry & Edwards 2 Americas:

One America for the "elites" and "beautiful people," They get the Red, Blue, and Yellow tickets in life and in Kerry’s America. They get ALL the perks, ALL the benefits and get to ride at the front of the preverbal bus.

The second America represents the rest of us who are not filthy rich, who are not the Hollywood people and moguls of this world, those who can not provide them with some sort of an "advantage. We, the "little people," get to ride at the back of the bus (or not get to ride at all), we all get to pay taxes, stand outside the fence and watch from a distance as THEY roll along on their 9 thousand dollar bikes, They cruse in their 41 foot speed boats, THEY fly in their 36 million dollar jets, THEY live in their five plus mansions, THEY ride in their Rolls Royce’s, THEY wine and dine in the finest restraints while we plead on the sidelines hopping for (but never receiving because “it just isn’t done”) the "scraps" that fall from their table while Kerry, Edwards et. al. declare; and the lackey main-stream media report: "look how the masses love us and them!"

Why is anyone surprised? John Kerry DOES NEVER SERVES, HE IS SERVED BY OTHERS! This is coming from John F'n Kerry, a man who lives to be (and MUST be) FIRST in line and who's favorite saying is:

Do you know who 'I' am?"

This, and ONLY this, is what awaits America if John Kerry is elected. He and his administration (like the Clintons before them) will “milk the system” for all it is worth, for themselves, their family and friends, gorging on the backs of the second America. The rest of us are going to hurt big time, America will grow morally, spiritually, militarily and politically weaker. The terrorists will hit us big time and all the while Kerry, France and Germany will declare how good he is and how “strong” we are.
