Kerry people (one overtly gay guy, an old bag and some other random schmuck) just knocked on my door to push Flipper and the Breck Girl.
I really tried not to be rude. I told them that I didn't want any part of Kerry and that he's a flip flopper.
They started with Iraq, and I reminded them that Kerry had voted for it. They didn't want to hear that.
They said Bush lies. I told them they needed to review Kerry's tortured history on Iraq.
Voices were raised, and now they are headed to my neighbors house. It's cool-- he's more rightwing than I am.
I generally live in a Kerry leaning area, but I think they are going to get told off a couple of times on my block. We have a lot of flags on my block.
Is that you neighbor? I didn't know you were a FReeper!
Well, they're not ones to deal in fact. They like feeeeeelings.
Tuesday I was in Chicago on Michigan Avenue and DNCers were out there saying "Help us Defeat George Bush"-- I was with a very shy friend that would have died at me making a scene, so I just prayed for strength and kept on walking.
Details please, State, city...where are you and what is the political make up of your nneighborhood.

I never get political door knockers. I used to get green peace morons. I used to have a lot of fun with them. They don't stop by any more. I'm a little sad. I have to find a new hobby
So kerry has the NERVE to send his brownshirts out to harass and intimidate the voting populace into voting for him. To Hell with that!!!!

Good one! I talk to them as long as possible and ask for extra literature "for my friends." Then, I laugh at how many houses they missed and the wasted literature. One year, a friend gave me a bunch of literature to pass out for him. He took it for granted I was a democrat. Anyway, it never got past my garbage can.
The oddsof me changing their minds are miniscule. I think I gave better than I got. I told them how flawed their candidate is. They just gave me the Moore line--theirs nothing new there.
The great thing about this whole thing is how utterly delusional his supporters are. At this point, they think they are on the side of angels with Kerry. Little do they know that he said everything about Iraq that Bush did.
I tend to think the gay guy is animated by his extreme gayness more than his antiwar stance.
That's the great thing about where I live. Naval base housing. Would just LOVE to see them try their spiel here...
