On Tuesday, Janeane Garofalo was CLOBBERED in a radio interview with Larry Elder (790 KABC, Los Angeles, 3-6pm PDT).
Janeane tried to pass off the "Republicans are racist" canard, but Elder gave it back to her with the facts.
When Janeane realized that she was facing someone who knew what he was talking about, she tried to walk off the show. She stayed, but it just kept going downhill for Janeane.
After the exchange, Janeane reportedly called Larry a "house Negro" on another show.
Elder later went on "The Majority Report" (her scAir America radio show), and Janeane must have sat out 90-95% of the interview because she couldn't keep up with Sam Seder (her co-host) and Larry.
I wish the Janeane-Larry Elder exchange were online. Larry has re-played the interview three times since the original exchange. It is GREAT radio.
Sorry for the late post, but ... DID ANYONE ELSE HEAR THIS?
I wish I'd seen this. Larry's an attorney from my alma mater (same as the lovely Ann Coulter). He's smart and he talks fast and no one he debates can keep up with him.
About a year ago he was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Elder was promoting his book, and Leno wanted to talk about how much less blacks and women make for the doing the same job as white guys.
When Elder pointed out what nonsense this was--wouldn't such workers be in incredibly high demand if they could be hired so cheaply (thus raising their wages)?--Leno was completely speechless. He'd obviously prepared for the interview, throwing out one liberal canard after another, but Elder shot each one down quickly.
For the record, Medved and Elder are probably the two most astute debaters on the radio today and are required daily listening for conservatives learning how to debate.
This doesn't make her look too sharp, that is, letting a "house Negro" kick her white educated ass in a debate.
Also, a few months back, on Hannity & Colmes, this guy was on. I think a talk show host. He was hilarious. He was even yelling at Hannity. Sort of a stocky guy, dark hair. Not many clues I know, but he was great.
Here are some other things you might want to know about Medved:
1)He does believe that Big Foot exists. No Joke.
2)He is a huge fan of President Bush and many on this site might consider him something of a shill. Personally, I don't mind it becuase I agree with him. Many on this site might consider me a shill also.
3)He is a moderate on the question of Illegal Aliens and supported the President's plan.
4)He is the most voracious opponent of changing the definition of marriage on the radio today.
5)He used to be a pretty big liberal and worked on the RFK campaign in 1968 and then the McGovern campaign in 1972. He first voted Republican for Reagan in 1980.
6)He attended Yale undergraduate and Yale law school (but didn't get his law degree). Among the future politicians he met in that capacity include: Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, John Kerry, Howard Dean, Joe Lieberman. Pretty intersting list, eh?
7)Another classmate he befriended who remains his buddy to this day is Clinton impeachment lawyer Lannie Davis.
As you can tell, I love listening to him and since I missed his show today, I have him in my ear right now as I write this.
As to my second favorite talk show host, here is the link to KABC in Los Angeles, Elder's flagship station. Unlike my buddy Michael, Larry's broadcast can't be heard every day but, yes, he is abso-freaking-loutely worth listening to every day. Some interesting things about Larry Elder:
1)He just recently became a Republican and voted Libertarian in 2000.
2)He is a classic Libertarian who believes in legalizing drugs, privatizing almost everything, little or no taxes
3) He is not opposed to giving marriage rights to gays and in fact, if he had his way, government would be out of marriage altogether.
4) Elder is pro-choice but is anti-Roe v Wade and wants the decision given to the states.
5)Elder has become staunchly pro-Bush since 9/11 because the one thing that he differs with the Libertarian Party is on the question of national defense.
6) The best show for this man is Friday's in the last hour (BTW, he is on from 3PM-6PM Pacific Time) when he discusses the issues of the day with his feisty, octogenarian Mother.
Anyway, I hope this helps.
once again Hannity couldn't come up with any comebacks just read facts after facts. When the dumb bitch said this is the secretive administration since Nixon. Why didn't he say "and speaking of Watergate, How about that Sandy berger. That seems pretty shady and secretive?" But no he was worried about winning a F*****G publicity contest! and the terrorist don't give a damn if the dem or republicans come in first place.
Jeanine Garafolo is the type of liberal you want on a show which intends to entertain rather than enlighten. Let's face it- you can always count on Garafolo for inane remarks completely unsupported by facts, comments which prove her complete isolation from any thought which didn't originate with Noam Chomsky, and a personal arrogance which is unflappable even when she has been outed as a complete buffoon.
To put it bluntly, to debate her is to argue with a file cabinet. It's full of papers, it tries to tell you it has content, but the drawers are locked, and when you finally get it open, all you find is wet newspaper and decade old copies of Newsweek.
I will bet three hundred dollars that she subscribes to USA Today, and prefers her news printed in color with pie charts, line graphs with a supressed zero, and three word headlines.
The truly ironic thing is how she rails against exactly this sort of thing, and then engages in sensationalist rhetoric in the very next breath. She claims to hate how "uneducated" Americans are, but she repeats things which have been thoroughly debunked. She's ideal for the talk show circuit because she just keeps on talking.
I see many posts on here about Hannity being nasaly and one that said can you imagine if he was a liberal? and you mentioned leno- then it hit me! Sean would be leno!
My favorite radio host is Howie Carr. He's Boston's most popular conservative radio host, and also writes a column for The Boston Herald. He's bright and hilarious. He was on The O'Reilly Factor last night. He's been dogging Kerry for decades as well as Ted Kennedy. I listen to his show every day. He reads my e:mails a lot. He seems similar to Medved in that he's intelligent and quick on his feet.
I saw her on Hannity and Colmes, too. That woman is nuts.
The last time FACTs did not matter was in Germany during the 30's and during the Bolshevik revolution. Freepers are awake, however, the rest of the country is not. Fluff and image takes the place of reasoned debate and taking facts into account. Our country is in desperate times and need many modern day Paul Reveres. We have to get under the skin of the left in order to expose them as they marxists / fascists they truly are. Algore has already delivered a harsh rebuke to Freepers and other e-patriots calling us 'digital brown-shirts'. This is the classic psychological use of projection in order to place your faults upon your opponent. The conflagration maybe coming so gird your loins and stock up. These people will stop at nothing.
1st rule in Dem Club -- Do ANYTHING to get elected
2nd rule in Dem Club -- Don't get caught doin' rule 1
tru peace...D
"After the exchange, Janeane reportedly called Larry a "house Negro" on another show. "
Who's the racist?
The B'atch should be locked up forever in a Soviet Gulag Psycho Ward. A hollywood liberal insulated from the real world, attempting to tell us how to think and live.Bush/Cheney 2004
"Hannity is never well enough prepared ...his stock debate points are getting stale."
He keeps quoting the Kerry line about going into Iraq...I kept thinking, "Why don't you play the audio of Kerry himself saying it? It would be MUCH more effective."
Then yesterday he played an RNC-prepared montage which included that clip, so tghe audio was available the whole time.
Sheeesh...
We oughta start a FReeper group of folks who have the ability to transcript radio shows due to extreme obsession.
For example, I tape every one of Rush's shows every day -even the ones he misses, along with the 4th hours.
Then, if someone asks this group if they could look up in their archives of a time and date of a show (Like Rush), I could type it out and send it here.
I use a Versacorder and can get over three hours on one side of a 90-minute tape. I haven't missed a show in three years. However, my archives only go back about three months -and aren't dated.
If we were to get other FReepers to do this with radio shows, we'd have a hugh stockpile of data that everyone could use against the left.
(*I got dibs on Rush's show*)
If Bush had done nothing about Iraq, then the libs would see the 9/11 report as an indictment of inaction.
I also heard Larry on "The Majority Report". Larry decimated Sam Seder and I noticed Janeane was uncharacteristically docile. You could tell she was outgunned and outwitted in her previous encounter with Larry. Those nitwits are no match for the great Larry Elder.
