Yes- also Adm Denton was the speaker that the State of California Assembly refused, in the name of separation of Church and State, to allow to speak on the floor of the California state legislature to honor the 4th of July.
Adm Denton spoke in a separate room off the floor and was met there by Gov Schwarzenneger. Incredible treatment of a TRUE patriot.

Yes, I believe it is. He was the first to confirm to the US authorities that torture was occuring in the POW camps by blinking in Morse code.... His story is here! It is worth your time to read it.This is an excerpt:
During a 1966 televised interview, 10 months after his capture, millions of Americans watched as Denton, who had refused to give in to threats of torture, looked into the camera and said he would support whatever the position his government took. "I support it, and I will as long as I live," Denton had said.
Denton's captors didn't take kindly to losing face. Denton would pay for his remarks with his blood.
During the same interview, Denton blinked his eyes in Morse code and spelled out the word "torture." It was the first time U.S. intelligence was able to confirm suspicions that American POWs were being mistreated in Vietnam.
I believe he qualifies as someone who can identify a true war hero -- how about you?

Adm. Denton was brutally beaten by his communist prison guards while in the Hanoi Hilton. I believe it was Hal Holbrook who starred in a movie about Denton. It was brutal. If you can find the movie, get it and see it. Kerry's mouth and anti-war chant was used against Denton and the other prisoners. The slut Fonda also. Jerry Denton is a true American patriot.

I believe so. I remember seeing film of this on the evening news at the time. I was riveted, both by his courage and by just how damn clever he was. Admirable in every way.
