Okayyyyy, lets see...Kerry supposedly is WIA on December 2, 1968 but is not awarded a PH until February 28, 1969...It took him almost THREE FRIGGIN' MONTHS to get anyone to sign off on his Purple friggin' Heart!!!
I knew that first PH commendation smelled like week old fish!!!
Now all we have to do is run down Donald A. Still...

If you have any USN who can assist on these records.

I went to the site...
I couldn't find the following:
1. Medical Records - describing the "injuries" for Purple Hearts.
2. Silver Star citation...with author and witnesses identified.
The rest is typical garbage..

I am not sure that I understand all of these pdfs. Can someone explain why he got a Gold Star instead of the second purple heart? Also, in the casulty report it lists his second and third wounds, but the first pages are totally illegable (on my machine anyway). Does anyone see where the wounds for the first PH are listed?

"I couldn't find the following:
1. Medical Records - describing the "injuries" for Purple Hearts."
And you're not going to find medical records...Kerry has refused to release them.

No Med Records and wasn't it interesting that it took Kerry almost 3 friggin' months to get someone to sign his first PH commendation...I guess he had to get someone drunk at the Officer's Club before they would honor his "request" LMAO

When a military member is awarded the same medal repeatedly, they are not presented the medal again. They receive a Gold Star worn on the medal or ribbon which represents each subsequent awarding of the medal. On the fifth award a Silver Star would be worn on the medal.
The Citation normally reads: "Gold Star awarded of in lieu of second award"
