CNN played the coordinator feed live for the ballon drop. We heard:
"Go balloons! Go balloons!"
"More balloons! Where the hell are the balloons?"
"I want more balloons, God Dammit!"
"What the f*ck are you guys doing up there?!"

I watched it on CSpan and so didn't hear this. But I'm confused.
It's not CNN's job to cue the balloons, is it? I mean, CNN's just there to report the convention, not to stage-manage it, right? So why are they calling for the balloons to drop?
Maybe this wasn't really a CNN worker? Or is CNN more closely entwined with the Dems than we thought...?

The guy in charge of CNN's live feed (apparently they route it through the studios in Atlanta) lives in my condominium complex. I'll ask him about it if I see him later tonight or tomorrow.
He told me a few days ago that a woman from CNN in New York had come down earlier this week to oversee the technical aspects of the convention coverage and had changed the nomenclature used for specific technical instructions to make herself comfortable, and the changes has been confusing everyone on the staff in Atlanta.
If I run into this guy I'll get a very frank retelling of in-studio events and will share them here.
