The Democrats are desperate to package their ossifying ideology into young vessels. It's pathetic.

You mean nobody is buying their old (but disguised) "give us all you make and we will spend it better than you" argument? Jeeez. Wonder why? LOL!

LOL!

Surprisingly, it went well...I think.

It was very casual, almost like a non-date.

I didn't ask her out again. I'm gonna wait a few days. If she says Yes, that's great. If she says No, it's no big deal.

Given her doo, for a second there, I thought I was watching NBC's 60's serial drama, American Dreams

I think Catherine looks delicious.

FOX has excellent personnel up and down the roster. Beyond the prime time lineup of prima donnas. Eric Burns, Neal Cavuto, John Gibson, Chris Wallace, Tony Snow, Eric Burns, David Asman, Brian Kilmeade, Linda Vester, Rita Cosby, Jennifer Griffin, Jim Angle, Ollie North, Newt Gingrich, Carl Cameron, Major Garrett, etc. etc. etc.

Eric Burns, John Gibson, Brian Wilson and Neal Cavuto would conduct a more emasculating one on one interview with Michael Moore than Bill O'Reilly or any prime time alpha on any other network. Throw Moore on the Cavuto show, he doesn't walk out sans physical support from his dozen or so security goons. Something about a reaming.

FOX has the talent, the other nets don't. FOX has the real journalistic ethose of balance, the others don't. In a milieu of balance, the conservative ideology flourishes because it is more powerful, righteous and attractive. That's why FOX is loved by the people and hated by the elite poofters and ruling class.

He volunteered to serve on a swiss boat, one of the most dangerous tuts.

Yeah, those Swiss are really tough cheese-makers... And time to cue up Steve Martin's "King Tut" song.

LOL -- I know this was hastily transcribed, or straight off the subcaptioning (which is more phonetic than accurate), but I just love the typos.

It's like the time I was watching Schwarzenegger's acceptance speech, at a restaurant where the sound was turned down but the subcaptioning was on. One of his lines was rendered as, "I am off the mystic about working with the legislature". Took me a few seconds to realize he had actually said that he was "optimistic".

Other Dems are bad off, and unfairly so. And many Repubs are well off, not because of effort or merit, but because they're "rigging the game"?

Yeah, but that's no big deal. It's less Arnold's mistake of speech than your mistake of hearing.

When my brother and I were kids, the first time we heard Mark Lindsay's "Arizona" ... I thought he was singing "Where is Sonar?" and my little bro thought he was singing "Air is Colder". A very bodacious woman I knew in the past thought Deep Purple's song "Smoke on the Water" sounded, in here ear, like "Slow Coming Walter". I immediately refused to disavow her take, since my nickname at the time, and remains today, "Walt".

One more night of this then the Republican carpet bombing starts. All these clowns have been doing is making RNC commercials. These Dems don't realize that every statement made tonight will be played against a contradictory statement made previously.

I'm just waiting for the ad which plays a clip of Edwards saying (from tonight's DNC speech):

"If you have any questions about what he [Kerry] is made of, just spend three minutes with the men that served with him then and stand with him now. They saw up close what he was made up of."
...followed by statements from Swiftboat Veterans for Truth and other groups, who have publicly said such things to Kerry as:
"We write from our common heritage as veterans of duty aboard Swift Boats in the Vietnam War. Indeed, you should note that a substantial number of those men who served directly with you during your four month tour in Vietnam have signed this letter.

[...]

Both then and now, we have concluded that you have deceived the public, and in the process have betrayed honorable men, to further your personal political goals.

Your conduct is such as to raise substantive concerns as to your honesty and your ability to serve, as you currently seek, as Commander-in-Chief of the military services."

And:
"I do not believe John Kerry is fit to be Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. armed forces. This is not a political issue. It is a matter of honesty. It is a matter of his judgment, truthfulness, reliability, loyalty and trust - all absolute tenets of command."
-- Admiral Roy Hoffman (USN ret.), former commander of Swift Boats operations in South Vietnam

I would have loved to have seen Dean and Gore screaming. This has been one boring convention. At least in 2000, we had the Al/Tipper kiss that made our day. We had Jesse Jackson "Keep Out Da Bushes!" What stands out so far in this convention? Nothing, zip, nada!

The Dems are in trouble and they know it. What other reason would they completely break with the Bush-Bashing of the past two years and do a complete makeover for this convention? They've tried everything to destroy this President, but he still stands tall and unflabbable in the polls. Nothing is working for them, so they're trying to be nice. And even that is proving hard for them. It's got to be killing them to not be able to use Bush's name.

All through the Laugh-ins the Dems called their Presidential Debates, the theme was the same...bash Bush. There wasn't any debating of issues or policies. It was a strickly Bash Bush Fest. Now, after all the wasted months of spewing lies and hostile comments about the President and Vice President, these people are scrambling for issues to present, and all they've been able to come up with are the ones they've stolen from the Republicans. Talk about squandering time. They had two years to get their act together and they wait until 3 months before the election to attempt a change. Losers!! Now and in November!!

It didn't involve my hearing at all -- read my post again, the mistake was in the *subcaptioning*, and the TV's sound was off.

I was in the Cincinatti (Kentucky) airport changing planes during a Midwest blizzard back in the 87-8 timeframe and I happened to saddle up next to Mellencamp at one of the airport bars. It was fun ... he had two sweet kids with him traveling down to Miami or Orlando but we shared a couple of top shelf Tequila shots and beer convo for over an hour or so. He was a good guy then, we disagreed about Big Ten basketball believe it or not. He didn't like being recognized, and I understood given his love of Notre Dame football and Indiana basketball. I couldn't leave the house liking those squads either (both won national championships thereafter if I recall ;^).

However, if I see him today I'll just say "Hey aren't you Johnny COUGAR? Hey Mr. COUGAR!!!" He hated that in 87, he defininely hates it now.
