I know that all of you were on tenterhooks, anxiously awaiting my incisive, brilliant take on the horror-show that is currently unfolding in Boston.
No?
Weren't even a little curious?
Oh well, you're getting my opinion anyways, so here it is.
This has got to be one of the most painfully unwatchable, unlistenable, unbearable political conventions that has ever taken place during the modern era.
The fact that the major networks, which serve as a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party, weren't even willing to broadcast the second night of this debacle must tell you something.
The "keynote" speaker of the evening, Barack Obama, only excelled in comparison to the dreadful speakers that preceded him.
Mind-numbingly boring doesn't even begin to describe how tepid that speech was, and consider, this is the Democrat's "rising star." God help them.
However, I must admit that his little star turn wasn't nearly as excruciating as the Chinese water torture that was Theresa Heinz-Kerry.
Is it just me, or does this woman scare the crap out of you? She's like a character out of a Stanley Kubrick film...ONLY SHE'S NOT FICTION!
I actually had the opportunity-such as it was-to watch approximately an hour of the first day of the convention, where ol' "Bubba" decided to grace us with his presence, after being given a rousing introduction by his devoted wife, Mme. Defarge.
I'll skip any comments about HRC, seeing as how I can already anticipate how the rest of you felt about her patented Hillary, anti-Republican, anti-Bush tirade.
I think she too often confuses "preaching" with "screeching"; that's all I have to say about that.
Anyway, we did learn two important things from Bill's own Sermon on the Mount:
1. He is a draft-dodger! The fact that he finally had the temerity to admit this-albeit only in a tactless attack on the service record of President Bush-shows us that he's grown as a human being
and,
2. He's still an inveterate liar. Case in point, his statement that he wished that he had never received that fat tax cut, courtesy of George W. Bush. Excuse me, but is he planning on returning all of the royalties from his ponderous tome, My Life?
Don't count on it!
As for Bill Clinton, here's a simplistic chant that I'm sure those Marxist drones down on the convention floor could get on board with:
SEND HIM...TO ARKANSAS!
I'm loathe to speak for other New Yorkers, but I for one am sick of the man.
Probably the best speaker thus far, in an ironic twist, is the little girl who was trotted up to the lectern to repeat something that her Democratic handlers had told her to say.
A young Ron Reagan in the making?
I'll let you be the judge of that.
My thoughts on the final day of the convention will be posted in the coming days.
My fat Irish skull is killing me.
Oi!
Convention thoughts people?
It beautiful tread.
You make a' da tread sad by not a' posting!
You make a da tread weep 'cause a' no people be posting on him.
Thank you.
Umm..
I loosely fit the definition of 'people', but I'll wander about anyway.
So that makes the count in here how many humans and one undead?
Yo.

John Kerry is stuck in a time warp and he has no business being our next president.
He hedges on what he's going to do with regard to Cuba, and as far as I know, he never did anything in his twenty years in the U.S. Senate to oppose Castro's incursion into other parts of Latin America, e.g. Grenada, Venezuela, Nicaragua, etc., or other parts of the world, e.g. Angola.
He joined the stonewall brigade when it came to investigating the Clinton-Gore sell-off of our national security assets to the PRC.
He's done absolutely nothing-positive that is-to confront North Korea, even as Kim Jong-il's demented junta expand their reach into South East Asia and threaten the continental United States with ICBMs.
If he ever is elected-God forbid-he'll immediately begin negotiations with the unelected mullahs in Iran, whose rule is precarious as it is. There's no reason that we should be propping these tyrants up.
He is a friend of Yasser Arafat.
'Nuff said about that.
Finally, he is in the same league as Bill Clinton, who was responsible for the reign of numerous tin horn despots, including:
1. Foday Sankoh
2. Charles Taylor
3. Jean Bertrand-Aristide
3.Hugo Chavez,
and the list goes on and on.
This man is Jimmy Carter redux.
"Jimmy Carter redux" ?
I don't know if he ranks up that high on the 'wuss meter'. He's close.
He's certainly the pick of the dictators and terrorists. And he thinks he can just " politely talk" the regime out of wanting us dead, so he's got that in common with Jimmy.
Whereas Kerry dresses like a bunny, Carter was attacked by a bunny.
Wuss factor?
I'd give him a five.
Appeasement factor?
Umm...I'd say an nine, give or take a point or two.
This doesn't qualify as news...it is your blog and I would really prefer if you posted it there...I don't need someone else's opinion of something that I can judge myself...thanks for nothing
LOL! I forgot about THAT!
Test...
(Hits microphone.)
Bueller?
Bueller?
Bueller?
My take on the convention? It's a real snoozer. "Cosmetic Convention" is the nicest thing you can say about. But I'm on the other side. It'll be interesting to see if there's any "bump".
