Noticeably absent is Atlas Shrugged? Like it or not, it was and still is a tremendously influential contribution of intellectual literature and one of the few distictly American works on the list.

Would not the Federalists Papers, be another notable contribution?

Thanks for looking for me. Atlas Shrugged was Ranked number 2 next to the Bible in another survey.

I've read an awful lot of books and to this day Atlas Shrugged is still, without a doubt, the most influential one I've read. The beginning was a struggle, the meat of it was like breathing life itself into my soul and reaching the end was half an awakening and half a wake wishing it wasn't ending. And no, I'm not usually melodramatic about this kind of thing. It was that good.

"Atlas Shrugged"

Ted Turner has the rights to it. That's one movie that will never be made. It would be too dangerous for today's Democratic/Socialist party. They have managed doing a great deal of damage to our system from within the educational system.

Upton Sinlair's "The Jungle" would be another infulential title.

I just did a search on Atlas Shrugged, and you post is the first entry on this page I located. Very strange and I agree with you.
