After we got back from our Cancun vacation, my wife & I sat down at our $2500 kitchen table, in our $400,000 house, turned down the sound on our satellite TV ($50/month), and wondered how we could afford to pay our health insurance premiums.
And it's all Bush's fault!
Beautiful! Wish that were short enough for a tag line
We live in SC (Bush Country) on a golf course with mostly retirees. Two out of 40 families in our neighborhood are Democrats.
One of them hates Bush and blames him for not having health insurance. Despite the fact that he lives in a very expensive home, pays $500/month to golf without cart fees, has satellite television with the football package and some other sports package and cable and spends approx. $150/month for television!
When he gets talking about health insurance and how he can't afford it, we have to leave the room. He is a friend and we don't want to engage him too harshly on the subject of health care, although my husband tried once or twice early on in their relationship.
I truly believe what he spends on beer and cart fees would pay for health care.
