Ann's column this time around seemed like a shotgun parade of insults. Insults are due, to be sure, and any Democratic Convention invites such a parade. But the column lacks her usual coherence. She should have picked a specific theme and railed on it as she does in her other columns."Shotgun parade of insults" -- that's perfect. Her latest column is definitely blunderbussian, one of her rare clunkers, IMO. In fact, I think it's the first thing she's written that hasn't impressed me. USA Today did her a favor by not running it.

That NRO is a "conservative voice" and does not include Coulter's columns is a travesty, and speaks directly to the insularity of those who run that little sandbox. The same bunch are at Weekly Standard--with the end result of conservatives only getting to read what a little mammas-boy cadre deems fit.
Perhaps Coulter's real problem is that she is not the wifey of one of these second-gen Partisan Review brats. The wifeys get their silly articles printed on a regular basis.
It was the wifey columns that finally drove me away from NRO--so embarrassing for a conservative woman to read.

I will grant that my original Post #4 should have said "[Goldberg and Lowry were] responsible for NR giving her
column the ax in 2001."
I was wondering if you were going to be picky enough to call me on it.

For some reason I thought he was conservative.
But, I have never seen him except for his PBS show the other night.

I read a link on the NRO sight that said that the author can neither confirm or contest the story that Ann Coulter mailed Jonah Goldberg one of those California, don't be a girly-man t-shirts.

I have noticed the lack of the last few threads about Ann.

Unfortunately, Ann made it easy for them by submitting a column that does not appear to be up to her usual standards.
Just a bit more of a rant than they could take, and frankly, lacking a coherent theme.

I also felt that this column was WAY below Ann's normal body of work.

It is a substandard article and not worthy of being a lead piece for a major media outlet.
