Networks Pull Plug on Teresa's Speech

The three major broadcast networks have pulled the plug on tonight's Democratic convention speech by Teresa Heinz Kerry - just two days after she went off the deep end by telling a report to "shove-it" as TV cameras rolled.

ABC, NBC and CBS have decided to draw the curtain on Teresa's big night, cancelling live coverage of tonight's proceedings altogether, as fears mount among Democrats that Heinz Kerry a loose cannon who either bores audiences with her slow monotonous drone or shocks them by talking about her Botox injections and other indelicate topics. Political campaign consultants tend to fear personalities like hers, notes USA Today, because they throw the campaign off-message.

That's exactly what happened Sunday night, when Teresa's "shove it" outburst took the spotlight away from her husband's trip to Fenway Park to throw out the first pitch.

And despite much ballyhooed speeches Monday night by both Bill and Hillary Clinton, the most talked-about moment of the convention so far continues to be Teresa's temper tantrum.

"I don't think this is the time for quirky," said Terry Madonna, a political analyst at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., noting that while Heinz Kerry will still speak, she will read from a prepared text under strict instructions not to ad-lib.

Still - the pro-Kerry editors at the networks are playing it safe, just in case Teresa's temper flares again.

FOX should air it live and get their local Fox TV affiliates to air it live.

Un--freakin--believable! The networks work hand-in-glove with the Dems to protect their message.

So they are so afraid of her, they are forcing her to be thier puppet? Yeah, that's the kind of first lady I want!

Hmm, think the stations are working with the Dems? I mean they are not going with the convention when something might not make the Dems look good.

Suddeny, I want to watch the convention. It really infuriates me how the media will continue to run interference for Kerry. They should send him their bill.

"Heinz Kerry a loose cannon who . . . shocks them by talking about . . . indelicate topics."

On The Today Show this morning, Katie Couric asked Teresa what the toughest thing was about being on the campaign tour. Answer: "waking up in the middle of the night to go and trying to remember where the bathroom is." Thanks for sharing.

If there could be a bright side to having a President Kerry, she's it. Can you just imagine a woman like that even trying to pretend to be a First Lady? Saturday Night Live et.al. would have a field day with her, not to mention the fun we'd have with her here on FR.

The nets couldn't get many people to watch their sex symbol Bill Clinton last night. They'd lose more eyeballs with the anti-sex symbol, Terayzuh.

Also, the nets sense that she's trying to sabotage the Kerry campaign. They want no part of that.

I'm as big a critic of liberal media bias as anybody, but don't you think it's possible they're not showingn the convention BECAUSE IT'S BORING AND IT'S GETTING VERY LOW RATINGS? That seems just as plausible as a plot to keep Mrs. Kerry hidden from view.
