G'night y'all. As bloody usual, my tomorrow is dedicated to Afghanistan and Iraq...and a bunch of people who make the rest of us look like pussies.

I'm not sure anymore what the definition of treason is.....seems like there's so much of it occuring with hardly anyone noticing, but this FTAA idiocy would sure seem to qualify. In doing some reading on the fledgling EU constitution it seems abundantly clear that once a country signs on to this supranational gvernmental structure they're locked in to future directives issued by the supragov or risk sanctions as well as financial penalties. With these chicken#*^% politicians that we have, this new gov't. entity will run roughshod over us, our liberties and legal system.

A terrible problem we face is that the FTAA is under the radar as far as the media and general public are concerned.

You do get some media people talking about the borders, but they never investigate the true reason why our government, once the lawbreakers have entered the country do nothing. The spate of hate crime legislation that ocurred in the 1990s, the government programs that house, medicate and educate illegals, are all responses to directives of the Summit of the Americas, which is laying the groundwork for countries to sign the FTAA.

Citizens can stop this treaty if they are made aware of its dangers, and given some actions to take. Word must get out and citizens must relearn their duties as American citizens and act against the FTAA.

John & Ken's show? Only vicariously through postings on this site. If there were better Republicans ready to step into Dreier's (or whomevever's) place it wouldn't be a big deal, but posters give me the impression that some RINO is going to be sacrificed for a Democrat. If that's the case J & K are clearly abusing their influence. I hope those posters are mistaken.

Ba humbug. No one is being sacraficed- either conservative or RINO for anyone.

I am disappointment with many on here who continually fail to comprehend the very simple, populist rule-of-the-people point that the Political Human Sacrafice is.

Too many use the same language you do;for. Its not because the Democrats are better on immigration, they are worse, everyone from J&K on down readily acknowledge that. They are even worse on tons of other issues too, and everyone knows that also. Everyone including the Republican congressman who blame the Dems for any and all failings on their part, they hide behind their horribleness whenever someone asks a simple question like "why haven't you done anything to restart the border sweeps in your district?" Daryl Issa had the nerve on J&K to imply that Bill Clinton was responsible somehow for the sweeps being stopped in June 2004. Stop insulting my intelligence, the GOP has a huge majority in the House, the have the Senate, the White House and we gave them the Governor's mansion on the backs of our populist passion. Well do your job or payback is a b*tch.

I saw your state after I posted that, I can't expect you to understand fully the mood on the ground here in CA, but its hot. From the state that brought you the Prop13 tax revolt in the late 70s (that brought Reagan into office), Prop 187 that brought to light the welfare that illegals get (that is so important to the pols that they stopped the will of the people in court, but this issue would be nowhere without that debate) and recently recalled a sitting governor less than a year after his reelection --are trailblazing again. What we are now saying is that unless "our" representatives pass legislation that makes a difference on this invasion, that they at least allow the laws to be enforced by the border patrol....that they EVEN speak out against illegal immigration---then they aren't going to hide behind the big bad Dem boogiemen any longer. We're going to call their bluff and send them home no matter how bad their opponent is, to show their fellow caucus members that this single issue is the most important one to be represented by our district, and if they don't respect us we will send them home too. One lost House member is nothing, even all 5 won't matter nationally, particuarly when you look at none of them doing anything on the issue except Dana Rorhbacher, and he isn't doing enough. Its good to scare politicians, they aren't our friends, even when they have an 'R' by their name. Its all out rebellion here, this is every bit as big as the recall that consumed us from July-Oct last year. Dreier and Cox have from now til the election to magically become our advocates in Washington. They fail and their worst nightmares are realized.

Yeah, you'd think closing an EMERGENCY ROOM would wake people up, but the borders remain open...

You clarified what's happening out your way well. While both California and Tennessee are run By Democrat Machines, my state has nowhere near the problems yours has. I suspect that's due in part to your reps caving to special interests for too long with little oversight, minority groups gaining disproportionate influence and the "bread & circuses" expectations of the Mexican invaders (who are, of course, directly responsible for the virtual bankruptcy). I've learned that roughly one out of every five people you see on your street shouldn't be there at all; every other Latino face belongs to an illegal immigrant. Their abbettors' cries of racial profiling is patently ridiculous in that light.

I don't blame Californians resorting to desperate measures during desperate times. In fact, those that still harbor love for their state have the moral responsibility to do so. It's just a dam shame that her patriots have to resort to everything short of violence to jerk their representatives collective lips off of Mexico's butt.

Don't let them fool you, except for the loudmouth activists, hispanic citizens who are American and vote don't really care about immigration according to recent polling. I think the Rove's of the party have long known that. This has never been about Mexican votes--this is about the GOPs lips on the butt of Cheap Labor lovin' business. Its the same reason you've got so many in Tenn now, the "poor" their are too proud to work for low wages because they can always use welfare, so a whole new underclass needs to be imported.

This strategy is liable to come around and bite the GOP in the a$$. Sooner or later a democrat may wind up in the White House and grant amnesty/citizenship to these illegals. The AFL-CIO is just waiting to organize these new citizens in their ranks and then just watch the labor unrest we'll have in this country.

Also, these newly minted citizens I'll predict will be voting democratic in overwhelming numbers.

ILLEGAL immigration is not a tricky issue.

For example ANY reporter who says "undocumented alien" is supporting open border illegal immigration.

I think we need to cut the balony environmentalism and build a proper fence to the south. There are HUGE lengths with NO FENCE and any proposed fence is attacked for "environmental" concerns.

Good points, I never thought "Boy Genius" could be this tone deaf and nearsighted. There's a freight train barreling down the tracks from both ends and he's trying the GOP to the tracks.

Also, these newly minted citizens I'll predict will be voting democratic in overwhelming numbers.

No no no! We'll have a pander-off. The GOP will put all their ads in spanish and prove to them they can his-pander better than the Dems! It'll work, you don't want anyone to call you a racist do you?

The Republican Party will keep drifting to the left just to keep its share of power.

So much for a Constitutional Republic and limited government.

Interesting article, that "customer" mentality explains alot.

I think GOP is doing what they usually do, the Dems make problems and the GOP attacks them, but when they get power the typical REpublican simply doesn't make the problem worse, while not rolling back the policy or spending that created the problem in the first place.
