This week, the independent commission on the September the 11th attacks issued its final report. I appreciate the hard work of the commission over the past 20 months. They have produced a serious and comprehensive report, and I welcome their recommendations.

The events of September the 11th, 2001, dramatically demonstrated the threats of a new era. In the nearly three years since the attacks, we have waged a steady, relentless, determined war on terrorists. We're fighting them in foreign lands so we do not have to face them here in America, and we are taking unprecedented steps to defend the homeland. Since September 2001, America and our allies have captured or killed thousands of terrorists, removed terrorist regimes in Afghanistan and Iraq, convinced Libya to give up its weapons of mass destruction, and put the world's most dangerous nuclear trading network out of business. We're chasing down terrorist enemies abroad, and within our own borders.

The President waves "Goodbye" on the South Lawn of the White House. He is expected to stay at the ranch this week, while the Democrats hold forth at their convention in Boston.

Polls are showing a wild swing back to W of late. I'm hoping that Kerry gets no bounce from his convention and that W gets 10 points and then there's no looking back!

Love the fact that Kerry got booed at Fenway park - that's his backyard! And what a girlie-man pitch he threw.

Working on voter lists and firing off letters to the editor...wrote 5 yesterday. My goal is 2 a day from now until election day.

No kidding. This looks like a good week to get reacquainted with the History channel or watch Emeril cook something.

On the other hand, I might actually get some work done on the proposal. : )

I figured since I didn't do much 'spring' house cleaning, this week would be a good time to get some done. I'll be watching the History channel at night, or go through my old albums, and cassetts...might have to burn some on CD's, I'm sure I'll find something to do...even weed the floer garden sounds better than seeing any of the jackass convention!

I'm not even turning ON the TV this week.

It's GOOD to see the polls swinging in the President's favor. You KNOW that the more the American people see Kerry the LESS they'll like him....

WONDERFUL to know that the President is in fine form and at the ranch.

I LOVE that he just gets back up on that bike and rides on.......a REAL man!
