I recall Dukakis visiting a cleanroom in 1988 and looking just as dumb. Anyone have that pic?

I must say, he doesn't look too awe inspiring in this photo. More sad and childlike than presidential. I don't know if I should laugh at or pitty him.

Seriesly, though, what is this doofus doing here? What is he climbing into (or out of)? The last time I saw this much asbestos in one place, I was inside an annealing kiln at a foundry!

I find Kerry's trip to Cape Canaveral the perfect symbol for his campaign. NASA is completely ossified, and is relying on 1960 tech because they just can't figure out how to move ahead. In the mean time, private industry is launching people into space on the cheap. Look at those interior shots of the Space Shuttle, with all the kludgy buttons and circuit breakers. This is NASA's crown jewel. It would be funny if it weren't so embarrassing.
NASA's only goal now is to stay one step ahead of the Red Chinese, and they will fail at that.
The President ought to drop in on Scaled Composites within the next few days, and get photographed standing next to SpaceShipOne. That would drive the point home...
