I'm sitting at my keyboard with my vast Right Wing Conspiracy cap on.
The Case of Pilfered Papers submitted for your amusement.
The Clintons actually want Pres. Bush re-elected. Hilary has presidential aspirations for 2008. A Kerry election potentially puts Hillarys chances out to 2012. With the fair haired, gleaming toothed Edwards in tow, Edwards and not Hilary would be front runner for Candidacy in 2012.
Bill Clinton was the most self-serving, least qualified and most corrupt politician to ever occupy the oval office. He also had more extracurricular activity than anyone since Kennedy did. Clinton wants to be back in the White House again. This time, all the freedom with none of the responsibility.
Bill can tour the world with adoring crowds falling at his feet on the taxpayers dime. He has the opportunity to rehab his legacy as good will Ambassador to the world at large and another opportunity to earn the Nobel Peace prize.
Bill was an abysmal president when it came to terrorism. He treated it the same as bank robbery. There is no need to re-chronical this.
Bill had many people in or near his administration wind up dead. He is also the only one in recent history that had persons go to prison rather than testify.
Bill had the 600 FBI files that he controlled as potential blackmail material.
Berger is not squeaky clean. Bill had the goods on him from his dealings with China and transfer of technology to same.
Berger was incompetent for the job. As long as the Clinton umbrella covered him, and the economy was good, nobody looked at the policies of the Clinton administration closely.
Clinton saw an opportunity to use his influence over Berger and shoot down Kerry at the same time. Berger repeatedly visited the National Archives, to retrieve, alter, add or otherwise tamper with the records to improve the history of the Clinton administration.
Berger obviously wanted to get caught. You don't stuff documents in your pants over 5 visits and expect not to be seen. This is flashy behavior intended to call attention to yourself.
When caught Berger explains it away with an excuse that makes the "dog ate my homework" look lame. The excuse is intended to generate more interest.
Berger was a classic "walk in" to the Kerry campaign. He showed up almost as an answer to a prayer: a volunteer, the former National Security advisor, to offer free advice to a candidate with a laughable record on national security.
Kerry , after accusing the Bush administration of not reading the entire 90 pages of an intelligence assessment prior to the Iraq war, admits on Larry King that he skipped an National Security briefing to attend the Whoopie slur fest. It is then found out that he has missed many of them. A campaign spokesman then releases a bombshell, Kerry has his own sources of intelligence.
Since Kerry does not have an intelligence agency bought and paid for by Theresa, suspicion immediately falls on Berger as his source.
The Democrats have tried to deflect the issue of theft of national security documents into one of timing. The timing was intentional it's just the source was incorrect.
Clinton has admitted that he has known of the Berger investigation for some time. Kerry claims "I did not have a clue"
Who gains the most from this situation?
Bush can certainly make some political hay, but he is not the prime benificiary.
Hilary is the ultimate winner here. Hilary is already showing her age badly. A face lift in 2006 might make her a viable candidate in 2008, but by 2012 she will have a face that will make Miss Lillian look good. The US will never elect a woman that looks like a crone to be the first woman President.
Kerry becomes damaged goods, he is easily deceived, he is lax with security matters, and he selects untrustworthy advisors.
The real insight to who leaked this information will come from the press. If the story immediately gets buried it may have been Bush or any one of dozens of interested parties that could be the leaker. If there continues to be leak after leak drizzled out so that the press cannot ignore it. Look to Bill and Hilary. They have fired a torpedo in a 10-month plan to sink the good ship Kerry.
While I don't doubt the Clintons want Kerry to lose, this Berger thing isn't going to hurt Kerry or even be remembered come Nov. They better have something more up their sleeve AND they have to get the Press to report whatever it is with the tenacity they would Bush or DID with Abutt Grab.
perhaps a short walk in fort marcy park.
IMHO, Bubba was the most corrupt individual ever to seek political office in the United States at any level. Having said that, I didn't hate him, I just utterly despised him. It's hard not to hate a man who claims to be a hero and then accuses his mates of atrocities. This election could be the most important in America's history. "W" will break the back of terrorism in his second term. The alternative is disaster.
Hey, Mayor Daley(the original one) deserves at least a little consideration.
"This election could be the most important in America's history."
I agree with you . The US has had the blessed fortune to have very competent men in the oval office at pivotal times.
The howling of the Democrats is precisely because W has been both competent and effective.
His decisiveness shows them up to be congenital cowards.
Their complaining , slimy tactics, and failure to act demonstrade them to be morally bankrupt.
I considered him, and Frank Clement, former Governor of Tennessee, and many others; none of them are even close. Not only that, Mayor Daley, corruption aside, was a patriot. What right thinking American could say that about Bubba?
Bump. Thanks for the reply. Don't forget what Zig Zag Zell, by far my favorite democrat, said about some of their antics: "If this ain't treason, then it's the 1st cousin of treason."
I am still relatively green , would you be willing to explain to me about ping and bump. I still haven't figured them out.
Point of reference, Miss Lillian, mother of Jimmy Carter.
Use "ping" to alert another member to an article that they may be interested in. For example, if it's a black conservative issue, I would ping mhking because he has a large list of other users interested that he would ping.
When it's homosexual agenda, I would ping scripter and little jeremiah so they can ping it to their lists.
Bump means 'bring up my post' or BTTT means 'bump to the top' and members use this to keep articles they want to appear close to the top of their "My Comments" or access by clicking "New Posts to You".
If you see an article you really want to save, then you should click on BOOKMARK (located under the article) and it will be found in the links section of your profile page.
Still others add "keywords" below the article, so they can go to news/activism and do a search by keyword for related articles.
By the way, when I "ping" someone, I delete the name in the 'To:' section of the Reply screen and type in the member name that I want to "ping".
If you're interested in being added to a ping list, send a message to the holder of the particular list. For example, if you want to keep on events in Israel, send a message to Allouette or Salem.
The bump/ping lists method has changed. see the following thread for more info:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1177960/posts
The following is dittomon's definition of Bump: Bump is shorthand 'round these parts for "Bump to the top!" Everytime you reply to a thread, that reply goes to the top of the latest posts. The more times a thread is replied to, the more times it shows up on the latest posts. And that increases the chances of people seeing the thread!
I believe there is some truth to your theory. What clinched it for me was Clinton's flippant remarks on the subject withing 24 hours of the leak. The Clintons are deeply involved in this crime in some way.
I'm trying to get all this political stuff straightened out in my head so
I'll know how to vote come November. Right now, we have one guy saying one
thing. Then the other guy says something else. Who to believe. Lemme see;
have I
got this straight?

Ahh, it's so confusing!
I have a feeling that list is going to show up in emails all over the place before the day is out. Thanks.
You'v made a number of salient points.
It's not so confusing. Democrats are evil, it explains all of it. They were spawned in the primordial slime and never emerged.
