Kerry just 'threw' out the opening pitch at the Boston-Yankees game. Just saw Kerry pitch a really weak opening pitch, well short of the plate, bouncing under the catcher. What a poser!

Hmmmm, that sounds quite convincing, now you have me wondering why my receiver shows it coming in at 1080i. It definitely shows 720p on other HD broadcasts, but the ESPN HD (Ch 73 DirecTV) clicks over to 1080i.
Is ESPN using the John Kerry military records honesty formula on me?

NYCV, Mo, you might be interested in this, too. Apparently Kerry was supposed to be in FL tonight, not at this game. This last-minute diversion was all planned beforehand for dramatic effect, IMHO. Kerry said himself he planned this a week ago.

What's up with this ... seems like ONLY the NYT knew it was planned And they let him go to the game without doing security checks?? They had security guys with wands outside the game. Other reporters may have written about Kerry being at Sunday's game, but I didn't see it.

Actually, many regular season games have ceremonial first pitches. They usually happen a while before the game gets underway, and are usually not shown on any TV coverage.
How many during a season? I don't know, but a big part of Rush Limbaugh's job with the KC Royals, when he was working there in the 70's and early 80's, was to manage this part of the night's game.
