Kerry just flubbed the opening pitch at the Yanks-Sox game
ESPN | 7/25/04 | me

Kerry just 'threw' out the opening pitch at the Boston-Yankees game. Just saw Kerry pitch a really weak opening pitch, well short of the plate, bouncing under the catcher. What a poser!

'Maybe you need to check your setup. I'm getting it in 1080i, my brand new Samsung HD receiver decodes it auto-magically and shows you what the signal is.'

Here is an excerpt from a May press release on ESPN's new HD studio in Bristol, CT:

"ESPN's conversion from analog to high-definition digital will be a significant milestone for the entire company," said Chuck Pagano, ESPN Senior Vice President of Technology, Engineering, and Operations. "To become entirely digital, we must have the technical capability to ingest an enormous amount of content from a wide variety of sources and digitally prepare it for 720 line progressive HDTV, and with this new facility, we will now be able to do so."

(ARRRGH! Now they're interviewing Kerry!!!)

That really tees me off. CBS better get a hold of Yahoo, so they can change the caption that states the pitch hit the dirt before getting to the catcher.

Here's the email that I just sent to Fox:

Since candidate Kerry appeared 'unexpectedly' at tonight's Yankee/Boston game and threw out the first pitch, I'm wondering just who was originally supposed to throw it out.

Might that Mass. National Guardsman (the one who was the catcher) been scheduled to do it before getting bumped for a Kerry photo-op?

For a minute there I completely forgot he was a Democrat.

That's how bad that party has gotten. Know what I mean?

Yikes! A closeup of a sweaty, yellow-looking Kerry right now on ESPN. That's ugly enough to scare the kiddies.

Hearing laughter and the scream of jet engines after his girly pitch John Kerry and others look up to the sky to see where the laughter and noise was coming from. It was coming from here.

Maybe it's something in the water up there. NESN does celebrity interviews during the game all the time.

Meanwhile, the actual gameplay is a rumor.

I's love to see him get clubbed with a foul ball.

Kerry shakes watersoaked head. "pfffuh...hah? Yeah. I'm a war hero. Vietnam."

Questioner says, "No, I asked if I could borrow yer old boat for a few minutes."

First, he was half way between the plate and the mound, second, it bounced in front of the plate and to the right.

I refuse to watch. I have the set on mute, I'll go back to it in a minute when he shuts his piehole.

on ESPN? Kerry is turning this game into a campaign ad - I don't think the viewers who wanted to see a baseball game are going to like this.

I just turned to the game, and sure enough, Horseface is talking and close-up. Off goes the sound, and I am seriously thinking of switching back to Spike TV.

Fox News reported that he changed his plans and came in to Boston to see the game. I read he's going to fly out to Florida in the morning.

Holy SH!T! They've got Kerry on live, and his fake tan makeup makes him look green on TV!

Did he just show his lack of baseball knowledge when he was talking about Pedro Martinez in game 7 last year, I was typing and missed it?

He waffles on Pete Rose, this is great.
