Kerry just 'threw' out the opening pitch at the Boston-Yankees game. Just saw Kerry pitch a really weak opening pitch, well short of the plate, bouncing under the catcher. What a poser!

I was there and went up to a Kerry worker and asked where the public was going to be able to stand. He said he didn't know. I asked what time Kerry was supposed to land. He said he didn't know. He said basically none of the workers there knew what was going on. He said to me: "You know about as much as I do." I'm thinking this was a last minute change. The Times already listed him on Friday as going to the game. I'm telling you, the whole last-minute diversion thing was done for dramatic effect. Why should he care about the little people in Florida, when he can get face time on ESPN all evening?

He's animated for the camera's. It's so obvious he doesn't want to be there. Pathetic.

Thanks for openning a great aaand fun thread! I believe John Kerry just witnessed his best convention bounce and his Massachusett's tanking moment all in one fell swoop

Looks like Tereza has left the building. Oh well, I guess she can only mix with the little people for so long.

Go Yankees...9-6 now. They scored that awfully quickly. But ESPN was too busy running their Kerry love fest to much notice that Matsui hit a grand slam!
To: finnman69
Kerry kept smiling as he threw out a pitch that sank and hit the dirt before the catcher a soldier home from Iraq (news - web sites) could catch it. And which was so far off line, (IE wild) that the soldier couldn't even get to it to block or catch it on the roll.

This has to be the greatest phony that has been on the public scene since Hillary. It is so obvious that this con man set out to obtain a military hero record for use in future campaigning for elections to public office. During the Vietnam war, it was common knowledge that the medals rained freely from heaven. They were good for morale. I know, I was in Nam, too. He managed to promote 3 purple hearts and the other 2 medals in less than 4 months and used the regulation on purple hearts to get sprung back to the "world", while everyone else slogged through their 1 year tours. Every move he has ever made has been with the rolling cameras in mind. Why don't the Republicans keep asking him how much he plans to increase taxes.

Yahoo!! Grand Slam, Yankees!! I can't believe I'm actually rooting for the Yankees (first time in my life), but I'll do anything to make Botox Boy get blamed by the Bosox Fans for jinxing them. Good for you! The umps just robbed the Yankees of at least one run now, though. Sheesh.

Of course, the verb "to eat" probably has different connotations in 2004 than it had circa 1968. Not in this case. Take it from one who started college in 1968. That slang hasn't changed.

This is the email I sent to ESPN:
Dear ESPN- I tuned in to the Red Sox vs. The Yankees game tonight and expected to see a baseball game. Instead, I got a three hour political ad from John Kerry. Absolutely sickening. I don't know what was worse, seeing the cameras constantly on the celebrities in the ballpark, or the glaringly out-of-place political commentary from your announcers. As much as I love the Red Sox and Yankees rivalry, I will be sure to pass up your coverage in the future. Thank you for turning America's favorite pass time into just another political ad.
