Station pulls liberal show after threats
Associated Press
SILVER CITY -- A Silver City radio station yanked a liberal talk show off the air because of pressure from advertisers, the station's owner says.
"It's a shame that, in America, we can't have someone with an opposing view," said Matt Runnels, owner of KNFT.
The one-hour daily show, "Radio Free Silver," hosted by Kyle Johnson, was canceled Monday after running for about six weeks on KNFT.
Runnels said 20 to 25 advertisers -- including car dealers, bankers, pizza stores and furniture stores -- threatened to pull their spots from KNFT if the show continued.

You're allowed to have opposing views Matt.. You're just not going to be enabled to profit off of propaganda and lies.

VERY misleading title. Infers some sort of dangerous threat, not economic boycott. Advertisers exercising their RIGHT to spend their dollars as they see fit being twisted as some sort of "threat" is typical rat garbage.
Advertisers have the right to decide where they spend their bucks.

You're allowed to have opposing views Matt. You're just not going to be enabled to profit off of propaganda and lies. All I can add is a new second sentence:
"Just don't expect me to subsidize them out of my own pocket or trade with an advertiser who does".

Exactly, the name "Radio Free Silver" along with the advertisers not wanting anything to do with a station that puts it on tell me that this show was about hating America not dissent.
There are communities where hating America sells. Apparently this was not one.

You stole my thunder. Misleading headline by the El Paso Times.

Maybe Whoopie "Skippty-do-do" Goldberg will pay for the radio broadcast. Oh, I forgot, she lost her advertisers also for being anti-American.
To: Libloather
Typical AP story. Add a somewhat hysterical headline (death threats?) and offer no solid reasons as to why advertisers threatened to pull out.

"It's a shame that, in America, we can't have someone with an opposing view," said Matt Runnels, owner of KNFT.It's a right that, in America, we don't have to sponsor your opposing view. Pay for it yourself. After all, you don't think you pay enough taxes anyway.
To: Libloather
Let the scumbag liberal-demokkkRATs *buy time* and host their "hate-America talk show". I like it when the free market works like that.

These IDIOTS must be taught Marxism by practicing Commies in school and live in a closed society. Why do all Leftists believe in EQUALITY of OUTCOME. Why do they NOT understand that with ALL FREEDOM comes responsibility and that actions have consequences!!!
They are truly clueless!!!

Where do liberals get the idea that they should be paid for their opinion? Hollywood keeps making the same mistake. They complain that audiences do not want a political debate included with a performance. They can't get it trough their heads that they are court jesters hired to perform and not to pontificate.

It's a shame that in America, liberals think other people should pay to host their own propaganda.
