The likelihood is that the idea will not pan out for practical reasons. The best IVF clinics in the world can boast, at most, a 15-25% success rate. The producers have approached German television broadcasters who they thing will be more receptive to the idea.

So I guess a guy selected from 1000 for 'sex appeal, wealth, fitness and personality' would be an übermensch. I can understand why German TV might be interested. Imagine if we could create an entire race of such people. Why, you could call it a master race! Mein Führer, I can walk!

This proposed show is almost as bad as it gets. There are however some changes they would have to do to make it 100% politically correct:
1. Use only gays as the sperm donors.
2. Recruit two lesbians to be impregnated.
3. Have the viewers vote on which woman will undergo a late-term abortion.
4. The surviving baby is adopted by two men who are "married" to each other and who have AIDS.

If they make these changes, it will represent all of the "family values" that the left holds dear -- there will be no way that a leftist politician will dare to criticize it.
