The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Hiking? That's hilarious!

August 2, 2004 South Africans arrested in Pakistan could get death sentence :

World News > Johannesburg, Aug 1 : Two South Africans arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of links to Al Qaida could get the death sentence if convicted, but their families here are sticking to the claim that the two were on a hiking holiday. Zubair Ismail, a 20-year-old Islamic student of Pretoria, and doctor Feroze Ganchi, 30, of Johannesburg, were arrested after a raging battle in the city of Gujrat in Pakistan's Punjab province. They were arrested with other alleged Al Qaida operatives, including Tanzanian national Ahmed Khalfan . Ghailani allegedly masterminded the devastating bomb attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998.

Miller actually titled the chapter on Nosair "The First Terrorist."

Where can I get a copy of the 9/11 report? (I apologize for being lazy by asking you, since I could easily Google it).

Aziz attack 'linked to arrest of key suspect'

KARACHI: The attempt to kill Pakistan's prime minister-designate could be retaliation for the capture of a key Al Qaeda suspect in the deadly 1998 bombing of two US embassies in east Africa, a minister said yesterday.

Friday's assassination attempt on Shaukat Aziz could be in "retaliation" to the arrest of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, a Tanzanian Al Qaeda suspect on the FBI's most-wanted list, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid said.

"Ghailani was a big catch as he had trained many militants for suicide bombings," the minister said.

A militant group calling itself "Al Islambouli Brigades, Al Qaeda organisation" posted a statement on an Islamist website claiming responsibility for the attack. The attack was a response to Musharraf's handover of Islamist militants to the United States, it said.

The purported group is named after Khaled Al Islambouli, an army officer who assassinated Egyptian president Anwar Sadat during a military parade in 1981.

The statement went on to threaten more "painful strikes" if Pakistani leaders did "not stop taking orders from the despicable US President George W Bush".

"This is for the first time Al Qaeda has claimed the responsibility and its authenticity needs to be examined," Rashid said.

"Al Qaeda had not even claimed the responsibility for the attempt on President Pervez Musharraf in December, why they have now come out with such a statement," he said.

"Terrorists are creating terror in different parts of Pakistan, but we will continue to play our positive role in the international war against terrorism," he said.

"Pakistani security agencies have arrested several wanted militants and they must be getting frustrated and in retaliation attacking security and government officials," Rashid added. Ghailani who was hiding with four men, three women including his Uzbek wife, and six children in a house in Gujrat, 160km southeast of Islamabad was caught after an eight-hour shootout last month.

The authorities disclosed his identity on Thursday. He was accused by the US of involvement in the August 7, 1998, car bombings of the US embassies in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi in which 213 people were killed. Rashid said the security agencies investigating the attack on Aziz had made some progress.

Yes and watch out for the 2000 Pakistani suicide bombers who have either flown into Houston or crossed from Mexico

Pakistan-trained fidayeen(holy warriors) to fight American forces in Iraq

"About 2,000 young men aged between 18 and 25 years have been imparted arms training in Pakistan by Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) for being sent to Iraq to carry out suicide operations against the US-led forces, a newspaper report said."

Hey, I have an idea. We should allow direct flights from Pakistan to Houston.

"Any NewYorkers or anyone in the NYC area please keep us updated to how things appear to you please"

The security has been already been elevated this past week, it seems to me, especially in the subways. My brother, who works in Times Square, agrees. Said he can't believe how many cops he's seen since Monday, along with emergency services trucks that they've been parking sideways on the street. Also have a bro-in-law who works in the Citicorp. building, so we have 2 in our family who are right in the middle of the bulls-eyes. I keep praying that I'll win the lottery so they won't have to work in the city anymore, especially since I think it's going to be a nuke. I swear, a day like today makes me really sorry I quit smoking 10 years ago.

St. Louis FREEPERS. Need help tracking down terrorist reports at the local fire stations.
dubyaweluvya

Posted on 06/23/2004 11:13:50 PM CDT by dubyaweluvya

Dear St. Louis Freepers,

I read a web page online that said suspicious men of Middle Eastern descent were reported Aug. 2002 at three separate fire stations in St. Louis. The men used video cameras to record the facility, asked suspicious questions about load capacity, emergency equipment and floor plans. All the men were chased away by the fire safety personnel. I've performed dozens of web searches to confirm this information but haven't found it anywhere. Can anyone in St. Louis confirm this? I'm building a report on terrorism and would greatly appreciate any help that comes my way. Thank you!
