The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Australia and Italy have received warnings through a statement purportedly from militants linked to al Qaeda that demanded those countries withdraw troops from Iraq.

Until we know who is pulling the plug, I wouldn't be so sure that it's not terror related.

The fact that it was announced and the persons/group doing the withdrawing is apparently been in contact with them greatly reduces its association with terror. OTOH, a sudden, unannounced withdrawal would be of concern.

I was thinking less of a direct link to terrorism, and more like a foreign government or organization that supports terrorism. "If you don't like the way we spend our money [i.e., suppporting Hammas, AQ, etc.], then we'll invest our money someplace else.

OK, the nice thing about 5 billion is that it leaves a BIG paper trail right to those entities.

this is a graf from a LA Times story on the terror threats in California/New Mexico:

The warning states, again without details, that a planned attack in the United States in May "was postponed due to increased security."

This is the first I've heard about a planned attack in May ... anyone else know about this?

Wasn't paying enough attention--but with jokes, it probably wouldn't have mattered. Even when I pay attention, I often don't get them! LOL.

I C now. Sorry for my ignorance and cluelessness. Mind on other matters, clearly.

Oh, on the Daniel thread. I'm sorry for not contributing more. I think these days with so many priorities--I don't do very well with the longish things and coming back with anything intelligent. I think I do better with specific questions about smaller baskets of issues or some such. Sorry. Just seems to be my current state or some such.

If you really want my input on something I'm not catching, please feel free to ask me.

I really tend to hold all the Biblical prophecy stuff a lot like a lot of other puzzle pieces--wait and see what falls off the shelf as confirmed. Of course, if someone writes something that I feel a leap about in my spirit--then I note it a bit extra.

But I'm terrible about ferreting out all the historical details and connections and implications and cross references etc. Exhausting and tedious to me.

That's because when I trained for "urban operations" in the army, the drill was to use C-4 to blow a hole in a wall if you can to avoid the doorways and their obvious boobytrap potential. Then toss in a frag grenade and then enter the room, one high and one low sweeping from opposite sides of the room and interlocking fires. Using an M16 or M-60 or a combo of these. We never trained for this using handguns. Never. Oh, and we're never yelling stuff like Freeze! Put your hands UP! The only thing we yell is: CLEAR!

Iran says it is building a stealth missile

Iran is producing its first stealth missile, a rocket that can evade electronic detection, the Iranian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.

The missile, named Kowsar after a river in paradise, will be capable of hitting ships and aircraft, Defense Ministry spokesman Mohammad Reza Imani told The Associated Press.

He refused to give the missile's range or provide other details. Features of the Kowsar, such as its guidance and positioning systems, are currently on show at an exhibition in Tehran that is open only to select government officials.

Iranian state television announced the Kowsar Tuesday while screening pictures of a missile flying through the air.

Iran manufactures various missiles, chief among them the Shahab-3 whose range of 1,300 kilometers (810-miles) makes it capable of reaching Israel.

Iran also produces tanks, armored personnel carriers, and a fighter plane.

The Kowsar river is mentioned in the Quran, Islam's holy book.
