The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

Australia and Italy have received warnings through a statement purportedly from militants linked to al Qaeda that demanded those countries withdraw troops from Iraq.

Al-Qaida Suspect Arrested in Texas

A South African woman picked up in Texas almost 10 days ago may turn out to be a key, high-level al-Qaida operative.

Her name is Farida Goolam Mohamed Ahmed. She was stopped at McAllen Miller International Airport on July 19 headed to New York.

Iowa Company Supplied Internet Services for Terrorists

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa A Cedar Falls-based technology company has discovered its Internet services were used as Web sites operated by Islamic terrorist organizations.

FBI Special Agent Jeff Tarpinian in Omaha has confirmed that authorities had been contacted by FastServers.net officials, but he declined further comment.

The company's president says FastServers.net notified the FBI when it learned last week the sites were being used by terrorist groups.

The company provided wholesale Internet services through retail customers that were used by Arabic-language Web sites operated by Hamas, a militant Palestinian group; by a group which has been responsible for Middle East suicide bombings; and for message forums used by al-Qaida supporters.

The company official says one of the Web sites has been shut down, and the company is awaiting instructions from federal authorities whether the other Web sites should be taken offline.

Thanks, that has been my thought too. You lose your advantage if you telegraph you timeline, suprise is an important component of combat. I have similar concerns regarding islamic numerology and cosmology (sp) and attack dates. Something I'm trying to research further.

There may be a difference there, though.

My "opinion" about 9/11 is that the date was chosen because they owed a victory to Allah for that date. That was the day they were defeated at vienna in 1683.

I don't know that it's true, but given UBL's extreme devotion, it fits.

I'm more concerned about the political and religious symbolism of dates rather than numerology or cosmology.

Just got on- about 230 EST. Any horrific updates other than the demise of SOL?

Last night I was once again thinking about the Red Cross post disaster list. The hiring dates start August 9th. For whatever reason- the 19th of August is haunting me as an attack date. That would give our folks only ten days to prepare.

The Red Cross here in CT is right next door to this library- so when I take a coffee break I am going to head over and see if I can sign up for the Greenwich area- or find out more information.

My new job does not start till after Labor Day (New Haven). So perhaps I could do some good in the meantime other than barricading my parents' basement and lugging in water from Costco.

Kinda spooky, huh? Same around here. I've seen no unusual activity anywhere. Still, keep your guard up. A victim usually ends up a victim because he/she didn't notice something they should have.
