(Vanity) Question: How does one go about creating a "527 group"?

Does anyone have any links to information on how to setup a "527 group" and begin (if it's not too late) to raise money for my own efforts to produce a Pro-Bush "shadow campaign" (totally independant of the RNC or Bush campaigns, I understand that is forbidden by law).

I can think of many hardball slogans and campaign ads that may be more effective in some markets. I'd like to do what I can to ensure Kerry doesn't win in November.

thanks in advance.

I think the first step is to register as a Democrat.

Great Question, does anyone know of a conservative 527 in operation?

I was toying with the idea a few months ago of running a radio ad against candidates who supported CFR (within the 60 days prior to the election and using a small amount of donated funds to do so). I tried to find information on 527 and NFP groups but because there is too much ambiguity in the CFR Act and the Federal Election Commission has deliberately chosen to not clear up the ambiguity until after the upcoming election I chose to scrap the idea. The only information I could come up with is nobody knows what will happen with different ads run by 527 and NFP and other groups depending on content, timing, funding sources, and other variables. What a Mess.

Club for Growth is a conservative 527 that is running pro-Bush ads. You might write them.

You might call Harold Ickes, George Soros or John McCain. I'm sure they have a blue print.

Good Luck!..........;))

Forgive my insult if you are way ahead of these simple listings and directories of 527's... but, if not, good look. Perhaps finding similiar thinking orgs and asking them about their founding/startup/filing ordeals would be helpful, or maybe you'll even find one willing to push your ideas.

PublicIntegrity.org's 527 info
Political Money Line info (last half of page has long list of "527's of interest". Subscription site, but just getting their names and digging from their might help.)

Good Luck
