Today President Bush spoke to the National Urban League Conference in Detroit Michigan. He detailed his administrations progress since becoming the President and asked for their vote. President Bush ask the group if the Democrats took the African American vote for granted and ask them to compare his record since becoming president to what the Democrats have done for them. The speech was well recieved and IMHO it was a homerun

I saw a bit of it on TV. Nancy was smiling. I'm glad she got out for it.
How are you doing?

I'm pretty sure Laura will be joining him, I think her trop with her friends is over this weekend. I don't know about the twins. My sister and BIL are in DC this week and they're getting to do a White House tour, including the West Wing. She is bummed because they're gonna be in Crawford. LOL

I just watched the rerun. He was fabulous! I did see some hard hearts in that meeting, but most of the people actually heard what he was saying and they were sure he meant what he said. I think there will be a lot of folks talking about it, and thinking about what he said.

I thought Sharpton's comment was so tacky. President Bush walks the walk, he does just preen and emote for the cameras and yet its never, ever enough. Instead of griping, Sharpton ought to thank his lucky stars the President didn't send Cheney to deliver the "message". It would have been much shorter and very direct. LOL

President Bush was terrific this morning. He really made all the points that all Americans should be considering when then step into the voting booth.
As far as Reverend Sharpton's statement, it's typical of what would have been said and worse had President Bush spoke before the NAACP.

A shepherd was tending his flock in a remote
pasture when
suddenly a brand-new Jeep Cherokee
appeared out of a dust cloud,
advanced toward him and stopped.
The driver, a 20-year-old young
man wearing a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes,
Ray Ban sunglasses and a YSL tie,
leaned out of the window
and asked our shepherd,
"If I
can tell you exactly
how many sheep you
have in your flock,
will you give me one?"
The shepherd looked at the young guy,
then at his
peacefully grazing flock, and calmly answered,
"Sure."
The young man parked his car,
whipped out his notebook
computer, connected it to a cell phone,
surfed to a NASA page on
the Internet where he called up a
GPS satellite navigation system,
scanned the area, then opened up
a database and some Excel
spreadsheets with complex formulas.
He finally printed out a 150-page
report on his hi-tech miniaturized
printer, turned around to our
shepherd and said,
"You have here exactly 1,586 sheep!"
"Amazing!
That's correct! Like I agreed,
you can take one
of my sheep," said the shepherd.
He watched the young guy make
a selection and bundle it
into his Cherokee.
When he was
finished the sheepherder said,
"If I can tell you exactly what your
political persuasion is, where you're
from and who you work for,
will you give me my sheep back?"
"Okay, why not," answered the young man.
"You're a Democrat from Palm Beach
and you're working for
Jesse Jackson," said the shepherd.
"That's correct," said the young man.
"How did you guess that?"
"Easy", answered the shepherd.
"Nobody called you, but
you showed up here anyway.
You want to be paid for the solution to a
question I already knew the answer to.
And, you don't know beans
about my business
because you just took my dog."

Al Sharpton might be quick witted and likes to make people laugh, but he is a pimp. He and Jesse Jackson claim to be representing the black people in this country, but they don't. They exploit them, they profit off the very people they claim to be helping. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson live high on the hog and don't even pay taxes on the money the swindle from people. How many kids (not their own) have either of them provided an education for with the money they have collected.
Al Sharpton wears the best suits money can buy, yet has he given back to the community 1% of the way Bill Cosby has? Bill Cosby earned his money and has given away much of it to people who want to better themselves, but can't afford an education. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson shakedown corporate America in the name of their people and line their pockets with the proceeds.
The sooner people ignore people like Jesse and Al, the better off the black community will be

By te time my kids were 4, they knew, leave mom alone until she has had 2 cups of coffee and a smoke and out of the shower...My idea of a good morning...it starts at 11:59 and ends at noon. One minute of morning, that's enough.

I just watched it too, and I also just saw Al Shapton's response to it....
Al Sharpton admitted that President Bush raised some serious questions, but in the same breath said since it came from Bush, (in so many words) the questions do not deserve an answer. Al Sharpton should be ignored
