Woman With Possible Terror Ties Arrested

Federal agents believe a South African woman they have in custody may have ties to terrorists.

Farida Goolam Mahomed Ahmed was taken into custody Monday when she tried to board a plane at McAllen Miller International Airport. The Federal Bureau of Investigation would not release any information Thursday, but NEWSCHANNEL 5 obtained court papers filed by an FBI Special Agent assigned to the bureau's Joint Terrorism Task Force.

The documents show that Border Patrol Agents stopped Ahmed at the airport while conducting an inspection. When asked for her status in the United States, Ahmed presented a South African passport with no entry or exit stamps and some pages torn away. She was also carrying a bag of wet, muddy clothes with her travel documents.

Investigators found travel itineraries showing that Ahmed flew from South Africa to London, via the United Arab Emirates on July 8. Six days later, Ahmed flew from London to Mexico City. After initially claiming her VISA was left in New York, Ahmed later admitted that she was smuggled into the United States through the Texas border.

Ahmed is facing three charges of violating United States Code, including making false statements, mutilating her passport, and entering the country illegally.

Remember AQ is recruiting NON-ARABS

If you go to UAE or Morocco, you will see numerous non-Arab looking Muslims.

Yes --- but they always come over here to buy everything because unlike what is popularly thought, they do not have to pay sales taxes on what they buy --- an American would pay 8.25% in addition to $300 for a camera --- the Mexicans just pay the $300.

I don't think most are buying the cameras for anything important --- but without the sales tax, it's cheaper over here.

This is only a surprise to the people that do not want to see or know what is really going on on the southern border.

More than cheap labor and drug mules are coming across the borders.

Remember we must use political correctness in all our dealings with these people. So I'd say she'll be free by 9 tonight, and given a gold medal for being an illegal by l0.

KAN Kolbe! He didn't believe it even when his own brother gave him hard evidence found on the family ranch here in SE AZ.

This story Bin Laden associate, others linked to plot lived here or in state was in this morning's Tucson paper.

The most telling part comes near the end. Kolbe was nowhere to be found.

Why in God's name do they let the other terrorist's know when we catch one?

By "they", I assume you mean our gov't ???

If you'll notice this report was announced by the *media*. (today)

As well as this *media* report, A BAND OF 14 ILLEGAL ALIEN SYRIANS?! (today)

And also this *media* report, MIDDLE-EASTERN INVADERS CAUGHT CROSSING FROM MEXICO IN COCHISE COUNTY IN PAST SIX WEEKS. (today)

My thoughts are the gov't does not want us CITIZENS to know how much *terrorist* activity is taking place on our open borders, that's why *gov't* seldom makes any of these reports.

I suspect that for every one we hear about there are no telling how many more our government isn't telling (us) the public about.

My same thoughts, according to *most* in our gov't, our borders are secure.

If you notice most of these border terrorists stories are investigated & then released by the media's.

Any response, to these occurrences from gov't is usually the standard "no comment".

You are so correct. I believe that is how Osama got out of Afghanistan, as a woman. I believe he was, or is in Somalia....we just aren't looking at other Al Quada locations for him.

Think that's scary?

Checkout this headline in today's Arizona Daily Star.

Could the number of terrorists coming across our in-secure southern border be in the dozens?! Maybe even more?!

3 years since 9-11.
1 per month = 36.
10 per month = 360.
100 per month = 3,600.

100 per month = 3 per day
3 per day... coming in somewhere across the entire Canadian and Mexican border, every international airport, and every seaport...

This is needle-in-a-haystack stuff. Not a pleasant thought.

O'Reilly has a point, we need to police the borders with military, or we may have far more regrets than we can deal with....Thanks. You make a good point, and who knows how many more. If they can smuggle truckloads of illegal immigrants in undetected, hmmm, scary.

Why the heck don't they have to pay sales tax???

Are we a "free port?"

That's rotten...

Here's some information about that -- it's called "manifestos" and Mexican nationals don't need to pay sales tax on items bought in the USA --- supposedly they are for items going to Mexico but of course no one checks to make sure they go --- so it's another way Mexicans residing in the USA get out of paying taxes here.

http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/newssentinel/7593777.htm

Texas lawmakers were hearing reports of Mexicans digging receipts out of mall trash bins to get refunds, and of U.S. citizens recruiting Mexican friends or relatives to shop for them, tax free. Mexicans also may be using the exemption to furnish second homes in the United States, Gutierrez said.

And:

"The state comptroller's office estimates that Texas loses more than $35 million a year to fraudulent manifesto refunds. Because about 2 percent of the tax goes back to municipalities, the estimated loss is at least $4 million."

So it's hard to see how the border crossers are paying anything at all toward their free health care, education for their kids, and the rest. Texas was right after California for having the second highest state budget deficit --- but not much is done to collect taxes from anyone but US citizens.
