Bush Urges Blacks to Consider What Dems Have Done for Them Lately

By Susan Jones CNSNews.com Morning Editor July 23, 2004

(CNSNews.com) - President Bush came right out and asked African-Americans for their vote on Friday. In his address to the National Urban League, Bush said he understands that the "Republican Party's got a lot of work to do." And he urged Democratic voters to consider some questions.

"Does the Democratic Party take African-American voters for granted?" It's a fair question, Bush said. Do Democrats earn your vote and deserve it, he asked?

LOL. I always thought that was a little strange myself RA. But some around here prefer it to being called other things. It seems what a dark skinned person cares to be called differs depending on which one you talk to. I was just trying to innocently make the point that there are some really whacked out things that they are being taught by the likes of Moore and some of their own race. One of these Muslims down the street from me was trying to educate me last week on how a "person of color" invented the telephone and my family just stole it from them. He didn't have enough sense to think he might be talking to some of Alex's family. You'd be surprised how 90% of our history is a lie and Colored/Black/african american/the only true human beings invented everything and are actually God's chosen people while the Jews are a saxonized perversion of the real thing.. according to them. Sounds insane; but, these people actually believe this stuff and are being taught it by their preachers, leaders, etc. I would never have believed such a
culture of deluded people existed beyond the liberals. It seems a crime that they are so lied to. But, there it is. God love 'em. Their my neighbors. And as whacky as some of the stuff is they say, they're still nice people, shake my hand, greet me with a smile and carried on with me for hours. Sept for the Muslim preacher man who told me I wasn't even a human being because my skin is white and I was subliminally taught to be a racist even if I didn't know it.. lol.

There might be a typo in the title: not "FOR them" but "TO them".

To compete with Mexican labor (if it comes at 10% of the American labor cost) one has to be at least 10 times more productive to keep earning American wages. It is not easy, but possible.

Or do well-paid skilled jobs like nursing, a job which is impossible to send overseas unless you send the patients with it.

in the year two thousand freaking four, STILL refers to ME (and those like me) as COLORED?

Kick in the pants to a new century bump!

Thanks GVgirl. I suppose you've read a few of Havoc's posts on this thread, and he/she just doesn't get it. He/she keeps responding to rebukes (if you want to call it that) about his derogatory term towards black people, with even more insults.

I lost my temper on this forum once, and it almost got me run out on a rail. So I tried to be reasonable, and there are just some people in the world who can't be reasoned with. It's like Rush or someone said on the air the other day: "Throw a rock into a pack of dogs, and the dog who howls is the one you hit."

So let him/her throw his/her racial comments around, and then defend himself/herself with even more insults, and sooner or later, someone will take up this fight, or the Admins will throw him/her in the Briar Patch. I have no time for him/her anymore. I'd rather spend my FReeping time dealing with those who get it...like yourself.

At the risk of sounding cliche, "You GO, GVgirl!"

Hey. We've all run into it at one time or another. I've got a backup pair of asbestos undies!

I learn a lot from my participation in FR. Which is why I keep coming back. But most posts come from emotion, not logic. And we are not communicating face-to-face. It's easy for misunderstandings to get created. Posters let their tempers flare, get defensive and overreact.

I have no clue in what corner of the country the term "colored" is still used in common speech. For all I know, Havoc is 100 years old and has never used any other term.

Havoc owes you an apology. Not so much because he was wrong, but because he did not politely accept your efforts to enlighten him. And he should have.

Is this the first time you've encountered Havoc? Quite a treat.

Maybe your job is only really worth one sixth of what you were being paid, and the only reason you were being paid that is because government was forcing your employer to do so?

LOL Perhaps it was his work that was only worth 1/6th of his pay.

"Is this the first time you've encountered Havoc? Quite a treat."

"treat" is not quite the term that I'd use...though I would switch "encountered" with the more commonly associated term "wreaked" ("reeked").../smile from ear to ear

That look was not a thought to ponder it was a thought that you are the "r" word. I can't believe you think you gave this man something to think about. Doesn't work like that.

Or one has to lower their cost of living to meet Mexico's - which is about as likely to happen as people spontaniously becoming 10X more productive. The human body is not a machine that can be tweaked beyond it's capacity.

"The human body is not a machine that can be tweaked beyond it's capacity."
That's why one has to use one's brain (admittedly a part of the body), and keep using it. As I said before, it is not easy, but doable.

This is difficult to do in the current environment. I almost question if it is a lost art.

Lost arts can be re-discovered and can experience a Renaissance. It can be a lot of fun, too - the use of one's brain, but it is not easy.

Why is it that we hear nothing from the "African American" leaders about the genocide - going on - as we speak in Darfur - Sudan?
