(CNSNews.com) - President Bush came right out and asked African-Americans for their vote on Friday. In his address to the National Urban League, Bush said he understands that the "Republican Party's got a lot of work to do." And he urged Democratic voters to consider some questions.
"Does the Democratic Party take African-American voters for granted?" It's a fair question, Bush said. Do Democrats earn your vote and deserve it, he asked?

Unless the President runs your company, how is it his fault your job got transferred to Mexico? I have been laid off twice in my life, the first time was in 1996...was W president then? Get over it...when one door closes, another one opens....
Unfortunately, like many Americans the black population rely on the major media outlets for the news it is kind of difficult to form a truthful opinion when your facts are distorted,that's why it is extremely important for all Americans to demand honestly in the news media because this election is one that could seal America's fate.All Americans need to know the facts and them can a clear decision on who is best for all country.</p>
Two different victimhoods, in some cases: Of race and of economic status. These addictions will be difficult to part with. They may even be more difficult than physical addictions, since there are no concrete steps to take, like swearing off desserts or cigarettes. It will take strength, courage, and constant recognition of small successes.

Duh. It's called profit going to stockholders and corporate higher ups. You know, Greed. Selling out American workers for a buck. That's what this is all about. Everybody understands that companies are rolling in the dough from exploiting foreign labor. Is there some larger point that you were making? Cause all the higher paying unskilled labor in this country is going away leaving no way for people to make a decent wage unless they go to college for the rest of their lives (because there is no longer such thing as job security with free trade). Ya'll want to claim it's great to satisfy your greed at the cost of the greater loss of the whole country. My neighbors understand this. So you better work on your story a bit. The lie needs to be better if you're going to convince them.

If the president supports policy that causes my job to compete directly with people who work for 1/6th what I do, then yes, it is the president's responsibility. You might open your history book and look back at why G.H.W Bush got fired. Bad economy because of his policies. Not because he personally owned all the companies putting people out of work and the like; but, because his policy stance was bad and the people got it. IE - you can't BS people into believing the president isn't responsible for his own policy.
Yes, I think this kind of speech needs to be given at least on a monthly basis, but not just to the AA community but to all communities. We all need this agenda. I wish he could also highlight some of his successes, such as more African Americans being able to buy homes, or where some of his faith based initiatives that have been successful.
If you want to go all "big picture" on this, what do you suggest? Government control of the means of production, i.e. Socializm? Or Government Ownership of the means of production", i.e. Communism? Remember, Marx said socializm is just an in between phase.

Maybe your job is only really worth one sixth of what you were being paid, and the only reason you were being paid that is because government was forcing your employer to do so?
