"The Tumbleweed has verified information that a flood of middle-eastern males have been caught entering the country illegally east of Douglas, Arizona." Uh........No kidding.
Is it any wonder that we're being told that a new terror attack on OUR SOIL is "probable"?
Deport all illegals
Close the borders
Defend AMERICA FIRST !!
This should have been priority #1 on Sept. 12, 2001.
Stupid bureaucrats.........

Did you see that one of the biggest criticisms in the 9/11 report was the failure of imagination in the government?I have heard and read bits and pieces about this report. I, also, heard the part about the failure of imagination in the government. Does anyone know if this report even addresses the massive illegal alien, open border issue?

If I was strategizing for AQ and actually decided I wanted to win this war (as opposed to just scaring and killing a bunch of Americans), your concept is what I would embrace. It's like a slow-motion D-Day invasion force, only very few are getting killed on the beach. Most are making it to their forward deployments. If AQ is thinking "victory", then it will be hell for us on the day the go order is given. Not that we will lose or give up, but it will be a "real" war on American soil.

From what I've read so far, they hit it only obliquely, talking about how we need to work with our "allies" (Mexico and Canada) to better control our borders.
Pure yada...

Not that we will lose or give up, but it will be a "real" war on American soilYou've hit it on the head. From AQ's perspective, 9/11 was a failure. It did not ignite a holy war between Christians and Muslims, at least not yet. 'Christian' response was divided, measured and limited.
With this scenario in action, can you imagine what Americans will do? I doubt the response will be termed as 'measured' for very long. For some reason, this is what the al-Qaeda types want. And just because it's what they want doesn't mean we shouldn't give it to them.

And also, they've had several dry runs in the West Bank settlements. Remember the incidents where Palis would bust into settelements, knock down doors and shoot children? And this in a community far more heavily armed and vigilant than any American town.
Israel has decided to pull back behind a wall. What will we do?

That was an excellent letter to your representatives. If you'd like to maximize your time and effectiveness with minimal effort check out
NumbersUSA, use their free fax service and receive their emails that keep you apprised of Congress's actions. With 40,000 members and growing, they've proved to be extremely effective.
And it sure beats complaining.

I agree, if there is a system set up to control guest workers, then anybody sneeking in could be considered fair game. Thus, Bush's plan to essentially re-institute the bracero program.
For which, he was roundly criticized. By conservatives...

Hmmmmmm, indeed. The last time I saw the list for October thru March, it already said 332. It even had them broken down by country of origin.
We get plenty of indios from Xoahaca and Chiapas passing through here; nothing special and the Border Patrol is used to dealing with them.

"When Bush throws up his hands and says there's nothing we can do, the system is broken he's simply lying. " Did PRESIDENT Bush really say that? Did he throw up his hands? Who is the lier, you or PRESIDENT Bush?
Can you show us where PRESIDENT Bush said that there is "nothing we can do"?
My opinion of people like you is the same as my opinion of Michael Moore.

"Start removing the incentives for illegal immigration." That would be great, but I don't know that we have the ability to do that.
What is the incentive for many who come here illegally or stay here after losing legal status?
Why does a man leave his family and village, travel thousands of miles, at great risk to his life, to a hostile foreign environment in which he is constantly in fear of arrest or abuse; to take the dirtiest, most dangerous, most menial jobs at minimum wages?
He does it because it's the only way he has to feed his family and provide them the basic necessities of life.
Personally, I admire a man who will do whatever it takes to provide for his wife and children regardless of the risks, hardships, and burdens. I hope that were I in the same situation that I would do the same.
You will never stop men of courage who love their families so much that they are willing to sacrifice everything from coming to the U.S. to work.
The only long term solution is to make it unnecessary for them to comes to the U.S. in order to support their families.
