A BAND OF 14 ILLEGAL ALIEN SYRIANS?!
By Michelle Malkin · July 23, 2004 01:47 AM
WNBC investigative reporter Scott Weinberger reported on Joe Scarborough's MSNBC show tonight that the 14 Syrians on Northwest Flight 327 ALL had expired visas. He said that law enforcement officials xeroxed the men's paperwork without looking at the dates. The visas had expired nearly a month earlier, according to Weinberger.
Did the original article state that the TSA regs indicate the security folks can only search 2 Middle Easterners per flight? And no dice on checking "orthopedic" shoes (which one of them was wearing).
See the link at post #55.
And then he had an inverview with Jon Voight. Mr. Voight was talking about how dangerous the Hollywood left's love affair with Michael Moore is. He said Moore hates himself and hates his country.
I must have been reading this when you posted. Somehow, even though they appear "legit", I am not comforted.
Well, well. I am beginnig to have hope that the Hollowood crows is able to speak to some conservative values.
I agree, heads need to roll over this one.

FOR PROFIT!
Nor am I. Even if the band is totally legit, the response of the passengers and flight crew leaves a lot to be desired.
I love it. High school bus drivers. It brings to mind the bus drivers I remember, many with big bulging bellies. What a visual.
Now if these jokers are acting up on the flight (for whatever reason?), and the FBI interrogated them, and failed to read the expiration date of their visas, then we are in more trouble than I thought! The FBI agents must be reprimanded! I still think that these guys did not intent to display what the passengers have visualized. It is good to be vigilant, but it is stupid to be hysterical.
If these guys are Syrians, they and their leaders know damn well that their country is in the cross hair of the US. It would take a lot of gut to come to the lions den, and provoke him without having any place to run. The terrorist work is typically a coward work. The news report indicates that these guys are a group of musicians. The FBI confirmed every statement. All this stupid hysteria after the FBI confirmation is just that HYSTERIA!!!
Is it Selective enforcement for profit?

* Bush news conference at the end of the G-8 Summit,
6/10/04: Q: "What we've learned from these memos this week is that the Department of Justice lawyers and the Pentagon lawyers have essentially worked out a way that U.S. officials can torture detainees without running afoul of the law. So when you say that you want the U.S. to adhere to international and U.S. laws, that's not very comforting. This is a moral question: Is torture ever justified?"
BUSH: "Look, I'm going to say it one more time. Maybe I can be more clear. The instructions went out to our people to adhere to law.
That ought to comfort you. We're a nation of law. We adhere to laws. We have laws on the books.
You might look at these laws. And that might provide comfort for you. And those were the instructions from me to the government." _______________________________________________________
Some one is not obeying the President.
As citizens, we're now at the point where we need to shift some of the emphasis from detecting threats to how we're going to deal with as a society when the sh*t hits the fan, because I have almost no confidence that we can stop the next attack...
Hey, Middle America out there!
How many times a year do you have to walk back to the supermarket cash register and tell them you were charged for something not in your bag? How many times (if you happen to eat there) do you have to drive again through Taco Bell to demand the Hot Sauce that you told them about the first time? How many times to you have to wait, and wait, and ask and reask a flight attendant for an orange juice, and then just give up and forget it? How many times does the idiot check out clerk at Target have to reprogram a "scan" or call for a price check, hopelessly slowing everyone down?
This is endemic. The product of our public schools and general dumbing down of the society. It was not as bad as this in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, or even 1970s. Nobody is paying attention to ANYTHING. You could bullshirt and obfuscate so much as a terrorist these days, and get on any domestic airline today in the US, 9-11 Commission Report or no 9-11 Commission Report.
Quality control and PAYING ATTENTION TO DETAILS SUCKS IN THE UNITED STATES AT THE COMMON SERVICE LEVEL.
You can add all the bureaucracies and agencies in the world and it still won't change. And the terrorists know this.
Every man and woman for him/herself...we're gonna get hit again. Tick. Tick. Tick.
No -- it's really not.
Especially from Syria! First it should have been very difficult to obtain a visa. Then the morning of the expiration date the INS agent should have been waing in a van outside their door. I still think that these guys were REAL musicians, and all that reaction to them in our media is HYSTERIA!
But so help me, if there is another major terrorist attack between now and election day, (especially an airline hijack) and it is later ATTRIBUTED TO THAT DAMNED, CANCEROUS AMERICAN POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, BROUGHT ON BY LIBERALS AND ACCEPTED BY RINOs, (i.e. lack of airport profiling Middle Easterners for fear of "offending"), or illegal alien status, then so help me, my vote perhaps switches from Bush into a Third party conservative column somewhere. I'll hold HIM accountable, and I certainly won't vote for Kerry.
Good point as I've been looking for some concert follow-up. So far the only thing they seem to have played are our weaknesses.
