When asked by a caller how we could get Southern voters to vote for a democrat again, "Comic" Bill Maher just went on the following tirade against the South, Christians and Second Amendment patriots:
You know, that's a sore point with me in the South, the way they have a stranglehold on the electorate because... excuse me... and I love playing the red states, because when I play the red states in my stand-up act, you know, I get all the people who don't usually have someone like me come to their state, so there's a great bonding. And I feel for them, because there's a lot of smart people in the South. But in general, it is the dumbest part of the country.
Excuse me. It is. And also, they're the super patriots - the one part of the country that ever actually seceeded. The one part of the country that ever actually committed treason. And they seem to lead in how we are supposed to think. Because they are more religious. They are more "patriotic". And... umm.. I think it's just a a disservice to our...

Maher: They lead the region in dumbness, yes they do. Because they, there's too many people that just think every problem can be solved by either more guns or more Jesus. What is so funny is that he wouldn't believe the millionaires/billionaires that live in the South. The houses would make his and his Hollywood "friends" houses look like a shack. They belong to the same people who wear overalls and drive pickup trucks with gun racks in the back. They believe in God, Guns and aren't too thrilled with Gays and Abortion. They would be so confused. ROFLOL!
I think it is very unlikely this man has much of a social life...although liberal women are not always that choosy..I know first had since I used to be a liberal! My whole family were yellow dog Democrats (except my husband he's from the Bronx but has always been a Republican). We listened to Rush Limbaugh...lol.

Funny as I sit here and type on FR the T.V is on the Andy Griffith show is playing where lying was one of the worst things a kid could do (Opie) and Barney singing in the church choir was a major obstacle and I ask myself was the world ever that innocent? I never realized how fun my childhood was until I see what is happening in the world I live in today...

It seems Maher's real beef (given the excerpts on your post kcvl) is that he as a Jew or partial Jew has issue with Bush's born again Christianity.

There are folks on this forum who feel EXACTLY the same about Evangelical Christians as Maher...sadly. They call us "Talibanistas" and what not.

Funny how some things stay the same. I got nothing for folks like Maher or his imitators here. They are a scourge about as welcome a venereal warts. They can all go to hell in a bucket and I'd like to see any of them try flapping that gator so freely when there are consequences within earshot.

When we helped Maher to get bounced off his Politically Incorrect role, there were a lot of looney toon libertarians who stood up for their fellow libertarian Great Maher.
I wonder if any of them are still around, if they would like to defend him again?
I am going to write CNN-a letter. This is better than e-mail I think. I am truly offended by this man's comments. If Bill had made an offensive remark about Blacks, he would be ruined, but it's fine to insult Southerners and of course Christians. By the way, I think "reading chicken entrails" is a voodoo type thing. When I was in college, I worked nights for a courier service next door to a church...peculiar kind of church. They were always running around with candles in long white robes at all hours of the night. Later, I found out it was a voodoo church. Bill probably watched the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I doubt he read the book-too many big words! LOL
And oftentimes Ex-Catholics who go athiest are the most anti-Christian around.
