A Freeper turned me on to this site a while back It is an all classical station 24/7. Their stream is flawless never a drop out in all the time I have listened.
My local station plays less and less classical, which is cool; they know the market. But, it is fine to have this resource available when one just wants something familiar, or hear something old that is new to you.
C.S. Lewis once said that one should read the old books first. I think one should listen to the old music first.
They claim to be 100% listener supported no NPR. So I shot them $75 and got me a T shirt.
Cool! And they stream QUICKTIME!!! Nice station.
Enjoy. I'll bump this for a while. Gotta catch Jeopardy.
Get what you want at Live 365...
This sounds like a great site but I have a jillion questions so I hope you come back. My laptop speaker never plays loud enough to hear well. I don't have speakers for the other computer, but, if I get them, will I be able to get adequate audio. I used Windows Media. Is that the problem? Sorry to be a pest, but I would love to be able to access this.
I gat screwed up if I'm trying to read listening to music with words or lyrics at the same time. I prefer instrumental music, preferably before Gershwin when I'm reading.
I'll have to check them out. Thanks
Try RealPlayer.
Winamp and RealPlayer worked fine for my machine with this link.
WCPE is the best! Of course, I'm a bit biased. Their transmitter is maybe 3 miles from my house. I volunteer over there every once in a while. Jesse Helms used to be our patron in Washington. Seems that the Clinton FCC was out to get stations that play DWEM music. When I moved up here from south Florida, I took some ribbing for moving to Rolesville, NC. Well, Rolesville has a great classical music station, and palm beach county doesn't. The people know how to vote, too. So there.
Damned Italian Opera music can do that everytime :-)
That program should be classified as a virus.
I am hip. But, since I upped to XP, it is a lot less problematic that with 98.
Headphones?
I invested a a set of Boston Acoustic speakers for my desktop. I do not know laptops.
Thanks for that link. Will check it out.
Wow, good post, good station. Thanks.
Bump for some good music.....
