U.S. toll reaches 900 with 5 killed
By The Associated Press
BAGHDAD, Iraq A roadside bomb exploded north of Baghdad early today, killing one U.S. 1st Infantry Division soldier and bringing to 900 the number of U.S. military forces killed since the beginning of military operations in March 2003.
Maj. Neal O'Brien of the 1st Infantry Division said the most recent soldier killed was on patrol in a Bradley fighting vehicle in Duluiyah, 45 miles north of Baghdad, when the bomb detonated shortly after midnight.
Two Marines were killed in separate incidents while conducting "security and stability operations" in Anbar Province, a Sunni-dominated area west of Baghdad.
One soldier was killed Monday, and a second died Monday of wounds in Anbar.
At least 895 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq in March 2003, according to a count of names of the dead released by the Pentagon. The latest deaths would raise the toll to 900.
A roadside bomb attack on a vehicle near Baqouba, north of Baghdad, killed four civilians and wounded two others, said a local hospital official.
May they rest with God...and may their families be comforted...God bless our armed forces.
Amen!
How many people were murdered in the US during the same period?
The media only harps on domestic violent crime when the Democrats are in power, because the media harping is working for gun control.
In a Republican administration, they know gun control won't fly, so they keep quiet on domestic crime.
this is the only headlines you'll get from the lib press till election time.
I can't wait for the "homeless crisis" to raise it's ugly head.
The economy and the war, and how bad they allegedly are, are the only things I see on TV news.
I cannnot stand to watch TV news anymore, due to thier liberal bias.
US? How about just Wahington DC, or Chicago? What's our exit strategy in those cities? I guess we're not supposed to ask those questions.
Well, howdy Partner!! How you doin'?!? Long time no see. Mah buddy Dighton told me you wuz back in town. We reckoned you had moseyed on over to some other cyberhome on the range, but it shore is nice of you'ns to drop by.
900 huh? God bless them and their families.
Reminder: About 4 times that many people were killed on 9-11-01 alone. In return for the sacrifice of our soldiers Saddam is in prison and will go on trial, the new Iraqi government doesn't harbor or train terrorists, WMD labs have been destroyed, torture chambers have been destroyed, the Iraqi infrastructure is probably already better than before the war, the Middle-East has a chance for decent government other than Israel's, etc.
WOW! What a bargain. (Admittedly, my daughter is not among the 900.)
I imagine the democrats are already reserving convention halls and ordering party supplies for the day we hit the magical 1000.
What are you saying?..I merely honored the sacrifice these men and women made and I do that all the time...?I am very mindful of what they've accomplished for me and our country and for the Iraqi people.
That's not really a relevant question. There are 300 million people in the US and only 140,000 of our boys (and girls) over in Iraq. It's all about proportion.
Left wing ghouls doing a body count. When the number 1,000 is reached - and I hope it never is - the number will be celebrated by the American hating Marxists in the propaganda press. These left wingers are our domestic enemies.
BTW, in World War II body counts were never pubished. That's when Americans, not enemies of America, worked on the nation's newspapers.
They are definitely sickos.
What is really tragic is that we do not have good solid conservative mainstream media anymore.
How many people were killed in California by drunk drivers? Quite a bit.
900 deaths in Iraq since March 2003 are not all combat deaths. As of June 17th, 300 deaths were non-combat. Drownings, auto accidents, Helicopter mishaps, falls, medical problems or dying from the heat.

I thought I was posting my general comments to the person who posted the article but I see I did not. We are in total agreement about "honored the sacrifice these men and women made and I do that all the time...?I am very mindful of what they've accomplished for me and our country and for the Iraqi people."
Back in town?
You must have me confused with someone else.
