In short, the two people with the most to gain by having a foreign involvement, and the two with the most to lose by being the sole culprits, have both rejected the notion that anyone else was involved.
And yet one of those two people, portrayed by the government as a right wing, white supremecist, militia-type, penned an eloquent defense of Iraq as his swan song.
Consider then that he may have been protecting "others unkown" rather than being a rat because he truly sypathized with the Iraqi cause, as his own words would indicate. "Lily White" may have also been protecting his sister from suffering retribution, should he have outed the identies of his handlers.

I think you're on to something here, i.e., Islamic Terrorists will search out fellow travelers that they can use for cover and for friendly assistance.
That may explain why Nick Berg's e-mail was used by Moussarri. Berg was being probed as a possible "friendly" as he was open and interested in Islam. I think it turned out to be a misperception by Moussarri (that Berg was someone who could be used).
Whether any of this played any role in Berg's subsequent abduction and slaughter in Iraq would be speculative. It may have been mere coincidence or maybe not.
But I think that Islamic terrorists in this country are looking to use "friendlies" just as your post indicates that they did in Spain.
That's why the Leftists in this country are so dangerous.
