NOT SUFFICIENT. Kerry and Edwards need to step down as well. Berger did not do this on his own. He was trying to sabotage the 911 Report for political gain--gain of Kerry/Edwards. They are in this up to their eyeballs. Maybe we can get Berger to rat.

I wonder if Berger was informed of his resignation before it was broadcast on the news?

Slide Berger to the bottom of page eleven... the front page must be devoted to the recent capture of this dangerous master criminal...

AP: Berger Steps Down As Kerry Adviser

By RON FOURNIER, AP Political Writer

WASHINGTON - Former national security adviser Sandy Berger, the subject of a criminal investigation over the disappearance of terrorism documents, stepped aside on Tuesday as an informal adviser to Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites).

"Mr. Berger does not want any issue surrounding the 9/11 commission to be used for partisan purposes. With that in mind he has decided to step aside as an informal adviser to the Kerry campaign until this matter is resolved," said Lanny Breuer, Berger's attorney.

The investigation had threatened to become a political problem for Kerry a week before his nominating convention in Boston in which he hopes to persuade voters that he is ready to be commander in chief. The cornerstone of Kerry's argument against Bush is that he used faulty intelligence and poor judgment in waging war against Iraq (news - web sites).

Berger, former President Clinton (news - web sites)'s national security adviser, is under criminal investigation by the Justice Department (news - web sites) after highly classified terrorism documents disappeared while he was reviewing what should be turned over to the Sept. 11 commission.

Berger's home and office were searched earlier this year by FBI (news - web sites) agents armed with warrants after the former Clinton adviser voluntarily returned some sensitive documents to the National Archives and admitted he also removed handwritten notes he had made while reviewing the sensitive documents.

However, some drafts of a sensitive after-action report on the Clinton administration's handling of al-Qaida terror threats during the December 1999 millennium celebration are still missing, officials and lawyers told The Associated Press.

Claiming that he didn't want to give the GOP political weapons. Too late for that Bergermeister.

Mr. Kerry, "When did Sandy Bergler first tell you he was under criminal investigation for stealing Classified Documents from the 911 Archives?"

"Why did you keep Mr. Bergler on staff, even informally, when you knew he had stolen and destroyed Classified documents secured by the 911 Commission"

MONKEYS BEING THEMSELVES

Secretary of Defense Cohen, Impeached Bill Clinton, Albright, and luminary National Security Adviser and Kerry Operative Sandy Burglar,
holding court in the Ronald Reagan Building on April 25, 1999
"We were all making comments we shouldn't have about how the meeting was getting very boring.
So finally we decided we had to make like the monkey. Cohen
started this 'hear no evil,' and then I was next so I spoke no evil,
then Madeleine saw no evil, so Sandy Berger said, 'I'm evil.
'" - Bill Clinton

The Clintons are behind this leak. This is their shot across the Kerry bow. They run the Democratic Party, not John F*ckin.' And they're telegraphing him they can take him out anytime they want. The goods they had on Berger is just penny-ante stuff.
