Why would Republicans want this to come out NOW? ... before the Dem Convention? ... Seems like timing would be MUCH better in between the DNC and the RNC conventions.
I never believed all the Hillary hoopla about her knocking off Kerry to get the nomination and push Bush on the defensive with a short campaign against an unknown popular opponent ...
but now Im starting to wonder ...

Berger's lawyer leaked this to try and soften & ready his supporters & the DNC base as he (Berger) has been identified as a targer for prosecution and - based on precedent with the Ellsberg Case & Pentagon Papers - Berger is destined for significant time in jail given the disparity and severity differentiating these cases.
According to the original AP story, "Officials familiar with the investigation said Archive staff specially marked the documents and when the new copy and others disappeared, Archive officials called Clinton attorney Bruce Lindsey to raise concerns."
Why was Bruce Lindsey the first person to be contacted? Doesn't this mean that the Clinton's were the first to know that the wire had been tripped?

Agree 100%. Would have been better for this to come out just after the convention. After JF'nK had accepted the nomination.
To make the hate fest work, Berger needed to get rid of the Clinton baggage. He got caught.
The timing may be suspicious...but actually is VERY important! He testified before the commission AFTER he took these documents, and the report is due out this week. I don't remember Berger saying anything about missing documents, do you? His whole testimony is now worthless and truly suspicious.
Think about this --the first person the geeks at the National Archives called when they caught Berger playing pocket pool wasn't the DOJ, FBI, or anyone else in the Administration, but rather, Bruce Lindsey who is one of Billary Clintoon's favorite hitmen. Time to connect the dots.

I've been wondering the same thing -- whether this was part of the Witch Queen of Chappaqua's plan to take out Kerry before the convention -- but I attributed the thought to my ordinary paranoia. I'm glad to see someone else had the same thought.
Now is better. The Dems won't be able to stay on message through their convention. Now is definitely better.
And we will never find out..............
