You just don't get it. There wouldn't be an investigation that started last October if he had permission to remove them. Also, you seem to forget that he stuffed them in his pants, socks and shirt. Doesn't sound like he had permission to me, and for you to try to make it sound like he might have is TROLL like. Smells like a troll to me or someone who has the IQ of a string bean.

You cannot have the National Security Advisor to a former POTUS and the most senior national security advisor to a presidential candidate stealing and disposing of top secret documents and hope to sweep it under the rug.

Watergate did not have Henry Kissinger breaking into the Watergate and stealing classified documents, possibly at the suggestion of a former President and/or the suggestion of a presidential candidate.
Victoris Toensing said that all communiques between Kerry and Berger must be subpoenaed as part of the criminal investigation.

Of course he did not have permission to stuff them in his pants. Another poster with expertise on security proceedures noted that high officials can make arrangements to view documents off-site. This way they can do their writing with the documents instead of just notes.
As I said, you can only have a pencil and paper supplied by the archives to take notes.
If Berger was not given permission to take the documents off site, he may have stolen them so he could work on his 9-11 testimony from the documents instead of notes.
If he had permission to check out the papers but instead stole them, this suggests he may have had some worse motive.

I smell a setup here...Here is my opinion. Clinton sent berger in there to retrieve the docs and told berger the guard(s) will look the aother way. Also told the cameras will be turned off or malfunction. Then Berger went in there assuming the payoff is good, retrieves the docs. Boom, he gets caught. Everyone is tight lipped right before the convention. Some one within the 911 commission then leaked the probe. I don't think Hillary will step in 04 because the laundry is still dirty. I think this is to torpedo Kerry/Edwards in 04 paving the way for hillary in 08.
I think your partially correct. Watch what happens in the next days before the conventiion. A new bombshell re: Kerry just might get her nominated in 04 after Kerry resigns.
