SEN. SAXBY CHAMBLISS: 'Reportedly these documents are related to homeland security and then suddenly we see the Kerry campaign came forward with what may have been illegal documents. This is sensitive stuff and was a significant breach of security...Kerry knows better than to use these documents,' Chambliss says in a press conference.
SEN. GORDON SMITH: 'There is a curious connection between the removal of these documents and the Kerry press conference on port security..It's disappointing what people might do as they try and take the President down.

Woooooo Hoooooooooooo..."THIRD RATE BURGLARY!" Watergate,Watergate,THIS IS FAR BIGGER THAN WATERGATE! :-)
To: nopardons
The real question is, if this takes out Kerry, which of the orginal rat drawfs will be drafted?
Will it be Edwards since he was vetted for Veep?
Will $oreA$$ trot out Dean and/or Clark?
If this is strong enough to take out Kerry, $inator Hildebea$t will swamped with the same wave.

If Kerry did drop out,
1. would Edwards get the top spot? If so, his lack of experience would be highly questioned. He seeming incapability to deliver his own home state would also. And I don't see an Edwards (first term Senator, no previous elective office)-HClinton (first term Senator, no previous elective office) as a powerful union.
2. unless the polls have GWB at below 45% approval, I don't see Hillary trying for the top spot---too many questions on the campaign trail. Of course, for her Senate run, the media were complicit. Much of the media would be for her Presidential run, too.
Edwards-HClinton would be an experientially weak ticket.

This is getting better by the hour. Has Kerry been seen in public today?? It sure is. I am gone for two hours and come back to all this. I can't keep up with all the news!! I have been giddy all day watching the dems trying to duck out of all of this. It serves them right.
I can't wait to see Kerry's public statement. :o)

Oh Hillary will claim no recollection and the media will forgive her. OTOH, *if* this nails both Clinton and Kerry, look for divorce proceedings to begin, and the media will portray Hillary as a victim.

DeLay said "It appears to be nothing but a third-rate burglary."
Just a little word play to relate Watergate to Soxgate!
That was one of the Watergate Labels: "Just a Third Rate burglary."
