The deeper meaning behind Sandy Berger
Dr. Deth | Dr. Deth

Posted on 07/20/2004 10:33:27 AM PDT by Dr.Deth

Fox, CNN, USAToday... Looks the Sandy Berger story does have legs after all. Unlike Max Cleland's latest rant.

Now they have him stuffing documents into his socks. I mean, why else would you put documents there unless you wanted them to disappear forever? Off the foot, into the dryer, and poof. Both sock & doc, gone, never to reappear - except perhaps extruded from a wormhole in the Gamma Quadrant.

And, in a truly inspired moment of hypocrisy, Gurglin' Dave Gergen makes the network rounds trying to spin the whole thing away as 'innocent in intent'. Best one I've heard since the guy who accidentally brutally cut off his own head while shaving. Even the CNN talking head (still attached) wasn't buying it. If Gergen was a 180 pound jet-fueled human dreidel, he couldn't spin enough to slip out of this one. It takes a particularly Kool-Aid laden Katie Couric to even come close to buying what's being shilled.

Oh, and one from the "coincidence of coincidences" department: now I've heard that the 'lost' 'accidentally misplaced' 'classified' documents that weren't returned were drafts by none other than... Richard Clarke. Imagine that. The DNC playmate of the month for April. First, Lyin' Joe "Liar" Plame Wilson, now "Dick" Clarke. Funny how that entire cavalcade of Johnny-come-lately Pulitzer-wannabe shooting-stars, having penned their "Bush lied" screeds, and been celebrated as the noble brave whistle-blowers who tried and tried to tell the truth to the adminstration, are exposed as liars themselves.

The synchronicity is quite fetching - all having their rug pulled out from under them, all at the same time. I'd like to say it's another brilliant Karl Rove strategery, but it's just perfect. Too perfect. It's almost... evil. Which got me to thinking...

It took quite a sacrifice from Camp Clinton to take down the main wedge of Kerry's attack on Bush. Berger falling on the sword here effectively neuters the J+J campaign's main (perhaps only) plank: that Bush lied, and America needs anyone else as President - because God knows that Kerry's main (sole?) qualification to that office is that he is not Bush. Next, we will see Frankenlurch's flank will be exposed, and attacked. And that flank, of course, is Jane Fonda & his postwar dalliances with certain cat-cookies commies. So, who all is going to see "The Manchurian Candidate" next month? "Fahrenheit 451"? Pfft. Peaked too early. The real fun will come when the real skeletons come tumbling out of the Kerry closet. All they need is the slightest push. The betting here says, they'll get it.

Do you really think it's a coincidence that yesterday Frau Hillary came out and said she "would not run against a sitting President Kerry" in '08, and the next day, the Sand-burglar's misdeeds are all over the front page? Believe me, this story would not see the light of day unless Dr. Stalin & the Media Comrades signed off on it. Code words? Maybe, maybe not. But the usual suspects sure have sprung to surprising action, over an issue that 4 years ago would have been papered over (pun intended).

The end result of all of this will be a demoralized Democrat base, and energized Republican base (especially as those desperate Hollyweird flameouts continue, i.e. Ronstadt), a Bush blowout in November, and four years for the real power in the Democratic party to gird for battle. Don't worry, it's a lead pipe cinch that Kerry will end up making Mike Dukakis look like Charlemagne, by comparison. But worry, and worry greatly about 2008. Every underhanded tactic, every fraudulent scheme, every complicit media conspirator will be in play for that one. It will be very, very ugly.

'yesterday Frau Hillary came out and said she "would not run against a sitting President Kerry" in '08'

Well this means that she WILL run in 2008. It is as plain as day.

See, Hillary only said she would refrain from running against a "Sitting" Kerry. Now what does "Sitting" mean? Why it is the opposit of "standing." How does one become President? By "standing" for election.

If Kerry wins in '04, but is "sitting" in '08, that means he is not running for election, because he is not "standing". Obviously, if Kerry is not running in '08, then Hillary cannot run against him.

BUT, if Kerry is running, that means he is "standing", and not "sitting."

Hillary NEVER promised not to run against a STANDING President Kerry in '08, now did she?

Not only did he STEAL the documents -- let's call it what it is -- he did so and the REQUEST of the Clintons in preparation of testimony before the 9-11 Commission.

I wonder if the good people of Arkansas can get their money back that was spent on that tacky monument they call a Lie-brary.

Standing, is also the opposite of lying- (as in the prone position)a position that many Clinton obstacles have found themselves in and at room temperature too.

It seems obvious that the latest FAXED talking point is "the timing of this charge is disturbing".

The dems mean, they're upset because this event which happened LAST OCTOBER (and the media had managed to successfully hide) has been leaked out right before the DNC convention .. can anybody say HILLARY!!

Berger will take the fall .. Hillary will be rid of Kerry. Once again someone in the Clinton camp is dumped to save Bubba's behind.

Fine, but you do not go anywhere near far enough!! Why would Berger risk such a thing? There is only one answer; to protect Willie!! Protect Willie from what? From what the Commison and the dems have been hiding; that Saddam and OBL had major connections and those connection involved Willie; Willie could have prevented 9-11!!!

The Republicans have been notorious in letting the crapweasels walk all over us! What is important here is that the Berger treason be investigated and the documnets he destryed be identified.

Gorelick and whoever is concealing stuff have to testify and the truth must come out now. There is enough criminal treason here to put Willie in jail and force every dem candidate for Congress to abandon Willie or lie for him again and risk the voters.

We must push this!! This finally gets us Willie and puts Bush in charge for 4 more!

That is remarkable naivete in this day and age. I don't know whether to congratulate you, or condole you.

Ask yourself, What good are power and influence, but to use? I use Monicagate an an example. You don't think that could have been quashed like Whitewater, Travelgate, Rose Law Firm, Vince Foster's records, Cattle Futures, FBI files, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc? It was maybe the only scandal of Billyjeff's that wouldn't get him impeached and removed. And what's more, it inoculated him against any further badgering, just as the Chicom shadiness was beginning to see the light of day. Brilliant politics, as I remarked at the time.

Connect the dots, paint by numbers, call it what you will. When you see a puppet dancing, is it a conspiracy that someone is behind the curtain?

I think you're on to something. I believe it's in "Super Troopers" that the kid puts the soda up his butt and goes back in the store for a free soda, saying "Hey man this soda smells like my butt!"

I think Sandy was hoping he could convince the 9/11 Commission to throw away the bad memos and give him a fresh set.

Deth, your work makes me smile! Not only the conclusions you draw, but the colorful way in which you illustrate them! Cat cookies did make sense to me, as it was!

As you point out, Kerry is not to be worried about this fall, he's a placeholder goner. How do we insure the media properly draws Hillary into this, though? If it can be proved sufficiently to enough liberals (a daunting task, to sink through that many thick skulls) that the Clintons sandbagged Kerry, and gave the country four more years of Bush, there might be enough of them to remember in 2008, and join the "anybody but Hillary" movement of that year's primary season.

Just how do the goods come out on Hillary, and when's the proper timing for this?

I also heard "They were just copies." We need to start a collection of stupid lame excuses; there are going to be some dandies.

If Gergen was a 180 pound jet-fueled human dreidel, he couldn't spin enough to slip out of this one.

One liners don't come any better than that ...

I'd like to say it's another brilliant Karl Rove strategery, but it's just perfect.

Gotta differ with you here. I suspect Rove is hovering over his Magic Eightball right now trying to devine how nailing Berger to the wall will play with the Soccer Moms. There's a really big chance that Rove may be the best friend Berger's got right now.

Limbaugh described it as "stuffing the doc's into his pants." Slight difference--probably larger documents.

But "inadvertent" doesn't come to mind with the actions described, unless Berger j@@*& o%$ with documents on a regular basis.

NOTHING is coincidence with the Clintons.

However, it's been common knowledge for a long time that Hildebeeste would like to see Kerry go down in flames.

As to the leak/announcement that Berger's under criminal investigation--that's been ongoing for a few months. It is curious that the news broke only yesterday.
