The real deal
Linda Ronstadt's current tour 'a history lesson of music' reflects her dedication to authenticity, and quality By George Varga July 15, 2004 Other singers may have a greater passion for music than Linda Ronstadt. But few have a greater passion for more types of music, or the willingness to perform them, even at the risk of falling on her face.
"My career has befuddled other people, and it's befuddled me," admitted Ronstadt, 58, who finds her fans are polarized by her nightly on-stage salute to "Fahrenheit 9/11" filmmaker Michael Moore.
"I've been dedicating a song to him I think he's a great patriot and it splits the audience down the middle, and they duke it out," she said.
"This is an election year, and I think we're in desperate trouble and it's time for people to speak up and not pipe down. It's a real conflict for me when I go to a concert and find out somebody in the audience is a Republican or fundamental Christian. It can cloud my enjoyment. I'd rather not know."
"I saw a movie recently about a camel and these people in Mongolia, and I relate to them better than people here in this country. It looks like (Germany's) Weimar Republic to me here."

How stupid do you have to be to come out and bash the largest self-identifying groups in the country? Christianity, the largest religion by overwhelming percentages. Republicans, the largest political group (of people who self-identify). ???
Sounds to me like she knows her career is over, and she's setting herself up as a martyr.

"I'm sure that all the centers for diversity and tolerance will immediately denounce her comments? Oh wait, she's bashing republicans and christians...they will remain silent. When will we learn? There is one set of rules for the Liberals, and a totally separate and completely different set of rules for all things Republican/Conservative. Makes it so much easier to compartmentalize, doesn't it?
As for vastly overweight, aging Ms. Ronstadt, knowing she is a flaming Liberal and Marxist-Moore loving Democrat makes it very difficult for me to enjoy her music. Guess I'll just have to TURN HER OFF and not buy any of her recorded music or see any of her concerts. She wouldn't like knowing I was in her audience, so I'll save her any "discomfort." Of course, that means she wouldn't want any of that nasty, dirty Christian/Republican/Conservative $$MONEY$$ coming her way, either. Good grief. She's an idiot.

Linda is about to become the next cause celeb. They're already started puffing her, ala Dixie Chicks.

I don't see the problem. Republicans and christians don't want to hear that fat lady sing anyway. If Linda Ronstadt sings, does that mean it's officially over?

Public repudiation of Christians and Republicans marks a new and significant stage in the culture wars. Persecution can't be far behind.

Apparently, Ms. Rondschtat isn't so offended by Christians and Republicans that she would refuse their money over the years.

Today they reported that Alladin was deluged by requests for refunds from the guests who walked out. That helps explain why Alladin was incensed with the fat one.

"Linda Ronstadts says It's a "Conflict" performing for Christians and Republicans..."
Dear Ms. Ronstadt; I used to be a fan, but now I have a "conflict" with spending any of my Republican/Christian money to hear your liberal diatribe and hateful comments toward us.
Thanks,
FrankR
PS# I hear the Dixie Chicks might be looking for a new lead singer.
