Exactly. He had been totally briefed by Berger's lawyers and advisors, went out there and gave the party line. The question is, why did he do it?

The question is, why did he do it? I've watched Gergen since the bad old days of Washington Week in Review. He was always first and foremost a dem shill. The host of WWR took early retirement during the Lewinsky scandal, saying politics had gotten too bitter. He probably loved Watergate.

Hewitt was great, I was impressed and never heard of him before, though if he writes for the weekly standard I probably have read/agreed w/him before.
