Does someone know exactly what was in the documents Berger stole? If it is known that they were stolen, then the contents must be logged somewhere. If there IS a backup copy, then Berger sure wasn't much of a NSA to think he could outsmart an established system of security for such documents.

"My question du jour: Why was this story released tonight? ? "

Excellent question. Perhaps:

1. Clinton is orchestrating the damage control on this story and they wanted it to be released too late to make the evening news.

2. It's the Clinton pattern to break bad news yourself so that you can spin it your direction. By the time government releases it's report, makes the arrest, brings charges etc... it will be "old news". Time to move on.

3. Clinton wanted the story out and old news before he spoke at the Democrat convention.

4. Berger is expecting to be indicted and arrested very soon, and wanted to get out front with his efforts to prejudice a DC jury in his favor.

The NSC's Millennium After Action Review has to be partially declassified. We have to know what Clinton knew and when he knew it. We have to know why he did nothing. We have to know why he didn't tell the Bush administration about Al Qaeda's operations in America.

They've been "above the fray" the last 4 years, and what do they get for it? A week later, as a sign of gratitude, the Democrats run them over with their giant "Lie Machine."

Joe Wilson...Richard Clarke...The 9/11 Commission...National Guard Records...Every DNC talking point...There comes a time when the President has to get in front of a microphone and, at the very least, warn the Democrats that the lying ends...NOW!!! What if he attacked the Democrats by mentioning his oath to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic? I don't think it is wise to allow your opponents to lie about you without eventually answering back. I don't like "rope-a-dope," because I am never sure who the "dope" is supposed to be.

and all ships at sea!

What Mark says here is very important.

"This should be a very, very big deal, and the Democrats will attempt to do everything possible to kill it. It's big because it is a crime to destroy government property, including classified documents, and to obstruct a government investigation (9/11 investigation).

The information that was destroyed, to the extent we know about it thanks to Ashcroft's testimony, most likely showed the extent to which the Clinton administration failed to adopt recommended policies to fight terrorism.

And my guess is that some of those recommendations must have had some relevance to stopping what would become 9/11, otherwise Berger would not have risked everything to get to them..."

And of course there has been nary a mention of immigration's failure in all this.

And the continued failure that happens to the north and sout of our border EVERY day.

Nothing happens without a reason. Why would Sandy Berger take such risks? The room is monitored, the documents indexed.

His testimony before the Commission was while he is under investigation. Let not that point ever be forgotten.

No can do. That would be piling on, and the story would become the unfair exploitation of a Clinton coverup.

It is high time we started fighting the Dimocrits on THEIR terms. Taking the "high road" is costing us ground.

"Thank goodness the FRENCH judge was probing and turning up what he could on al Queda. I don't care if he is FRENCH - the guy stuck with it and made sure we knew what we had caught."

Suppose some French conclude we are too stupid and corrupt, to trust with leading the WOT?

I don't think it is too early for Bush and Cheney to come out with both barrels blasting away that the DEMOCRATS CAN'T BE TRUSTED WITH NATIONAL SECURITY.

Sandy Berger stole vital documents, and he is KERRY's National Security Advisor.

Why do I have the dispirited feeling that this HUGE, *HUGE* story will be IGNORED by the mainstream media? They don't even seem to care anymore about showing their bias.

I pray I'm wrong about this.

Anyone want to Freep the 9/11 Commission?

Here is the contact info:

National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States

Washington Office*
Tel: (202) 331-4060
Fax: (202) 296-5545

Here's the email I just sent:

Thomas Kean, Chair
Lee Hamilton, Vice Chair
National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States
301 7th Street, SW
Room 5125
Washington, DC 20407

Dear Mr. Keen and Mr. Hamilton,

I am absolutely appalled at the news of Sandy Berger. I want to see the Commission give a through a public airing of this incident. If warranted I want to see criminal charges pressed. Anything less would be an insult to the people of the United States.

I also want to see the Commission give full transparency not only to its final report on the result of its investigations but in detail about its process - Who got to see what documents and under what conditions?

The information that has so far come forth gets stinkier, and stinkier. I believe there may have been no direct involvement of Iraq in 9/11, but no link with al-Qaeda? - get real. And then there is the whitewash of Joe Wilson. We the people deserve a truly transparent and non-partisan look at the most terrible disaster that has befallen us and the greatest challenge that faces us today.

You are losing credibility day by day; and it looks like you have betrayed our trust. Unless you folks are going to clarify what now clearly looks like the Clinton Administration's refusal to pass all relevant information regarding to the incoming administration, you will have failed in the trust the country has placed in the Commission.

Shame on you.

Nothing will come of this, the cover up and code of silence in in effect as we gloat. Main slime metrosexuals will go off on a collective rant about Bush killing HIV positive children in Africa.

The media are not, nor will they ever be the slightest interested in objectivity and truth, they are, and will always remain, leftie commie media whores.

If the parties were reversed, this would be Watergate, and then some. It's *huge*.

But I have a feeling we're going to hear a lot about it on the radio talk shows and on the Net, but very little in the press. They will do just about *anything* to try to elect Kerry and that might mean burying this deep inside the TIMES, etc.

Like I said above, sure hope I'm wrong.
