What is the meaning of 'human sacrifice'? As in 'made an example of'?
David Dreier has gone over to the darkside...
Irrelevant. I think you were the only person listening to KRLA rather than J&K.
Ha ha ha ha ha! Baca Baca Baca Baca Baca Baca (Power Up) Baca Baca Baca Baca Baca (turn left to avoid Blinky) Baca Baca Baca Baca Baca (redirect conversation) Baca Baca Baca Baca (Boxer Feinstein) Baca Baca Baca...
Whew, Political Action Committee Man really goes through the quarters!
Wasn't he sacrificed for his pro-Islam comments just asfter 9-11??
I didn't hear the interview, but Hewitt thereafter, when I did hear him, was gushing with praise about Drier (the most powerful man representing California in the Congress, the smartest, etc). Hewitt is very partisan. I don't know if it is an act, or a firmly held belief, but his political analysis is often quite silly, and wrong. But I like Hugh nonetheless. It should be interesting.
Because replacing Dreier with a liberal Democrat -- one who, contrary to John & Ken's insistence to the contrary, likely WILL be difficult to unseat once an incumbent -- will SO improve the situation on immigration! NOT.
John & Ken would be good surgeons in the clinic of Cut Off Nose To Spite Face, LLP.
(Not that I'm terribly concerned for Dreier. He won his 2002 race by over a 30-percentage-point margin.)
In the interests of multicultural diversity (and staying on theme) I think it should be done following time-honored Aztec custom.
I love John & Ken but disagree with their "this will get their attention" methodology on this one.

Chris Cannon is from Utah. I know it is easy to mix the two states up. :)

I'm all for knocking off Drier but they should have started this over a year ago and had a good candidate ready for the primary. It can't happen for 2 years now.
Issa is totally safe, this is a high Republican registration district.
John & Ken are going to target a single southern California Republican congressman , chosen by their listeners for his/her purported lack of action on illegal immigration, for defeat in November.
It looks like it's going to be Dreier. John & Ken are going to urge their listeners to vote for Dreier's opponent, regardless of how liberal he/she is, in order to send a message to the Republican party that stopping illegal immigration is the number one issue for many voters in southern California, and that the Republicans have done nothing but give lip service to the issue, while doing nothing different from the Democrats.
John and Ken are also targeting liberal Democratic congressman Joe Baca, an illegal immigrant champion, but this seems like an afterthought to make the endeavor look balanced, and will probably go nowhere, because Baca's Democratic base supports Baca on this issue, and the duo's listeners in the district almost certainly all vote against Baca anyway.
But Dreier's Republican base does not support continued inaction on illegal immigration, and their frustration level is nearing the boiling point, so there is a real potential for Dreier to lose his seat over this issue. John and Ken have a proven track record of getting their listeners to take concerted action to achieve a desired political goal, for example, they were arguably, the main force behind getting Gray Davis recalled.
Basically, John & Ken want the Repulican party to embrace the Tancredo position -- zero tolerance for illegal immigration. This puts the Republicans in a difficult position, because taking tough measures on illegal immigration is thought to be offensive to Hispanic voters, whom both parties are courting vigorously.

You have the Berman. I have the Sherman.
Bleah.
John & Ken are pissing in the wind with this stunt. Anybody they target will easily win reelection. Instead, they should be firing up the troops to hold the feet of Supervisors Antonovich and Knabe to the fire to prevent either one of them from voting to put a sales tax increase initiative on the ballot. This is where the populism of John & Ken can do the most damage. Rumor has it that the Board of Supes will again delay their vote and probably won't vote on the issue until right before the early August deadline.
Bump....
