John & Ken are going to target a single southern California Republican congressman , chosen by their listeners for his/her purported lack of action on illegal immigration, for defeat in November.

It looks like it's going to be Dreier. John & Ken are going to urge their listeners to vote for Dreier's opponent, regardless of how liberal he/she is, in order to send a message to the Republican party that stopping illegal immigration is the number one issue for many voters in southern California, and that the Republicans have done nothing but give lip service to the issue, while doing nothing different from the Democrats.

John and Ken are also targeting liberal Democratic congressman Joe Baca, an illegal immigrant champion, but this seems like an afterthought to make the endeavor look balanced, and will probably go nowhere, because Baca's Democratic base supports Baca on this issue, and the duo's listeners in the district almost certainly all vote against Baca anyway.

But Dreier's Republican base does not support continued inaction on illegal immigration, and their frustration level is nearing the boiling point, so there is a real potential for Dreier to lose his seat over this issue. John and Ken have a proven track record of getting their listeners to take concerted action to achieve a desired political goal, for example, they were arguably, the main force behind getting Gray Davis recalled.

Basically, John & Ken want the Repulican party to embrace the Tancredo position -- zero tolerance for illegal immigration. This puts the Republicans in a difficult position, because taking tough measures on illegal immigration is thought to be offensive to Hispanic voters, whom both parties are courting vigorously.

I don't know these two doofi, but I'll lay a grand with anyone who wants to bet me that Drier will NOT lose his seat in the upcoming election.

The voters in Dreier's district ought to write in Sonny Sardo rather than vote for the Dem. The message will still get sent, and in the best case Sardo wins.
