MILWAUKEE, WI - The Kerry-Edwards campaign is touting a new theme - values. Until recently, they were unclear about just which values they were talking about. But recently, at a star-studded fund-raiser that raised $7.5 million for the Kerry-Edwards ticket, America learned a little too much about these so-called values.
Actress Whoopi Goldberg made obscene references to the president's name. Cameras caught Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards laughing and cheering her on.
According to actor Paul Newman, the president's tax cuts were "borderline criminal."
Chevy Chase said that Mr. Bush's most recent read was "Leader of the Free World for Dummies," and compared Mr. Bush's intelligence to that of an "egg-timer."
From John Mellencamp we heard a song called "Texas Bandido" (bandit): "He's just another cheap thug that sacrifices our young ... You're going to get us killed with your little white lies." Any protest from Mr. Edwards or Mr. Kerry went unreported.
Later that night, Kerry and Edwards went on stage to tell the audience that, "Every performer tonight in their own way either verbally through their music or through their lyrics have conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country."
The lack of civility at that event was, frankly, appalling, said Mary Buestrin, National Republican Committee Woman for Wisconsin. If that is what John Kerry and John Edwards think reflects the heart and soul of their country, they are completely out of step with the American people. They should have seen the throngs of people Wednesday who lined the streets to support President Bush in Waukesha, West Bend, Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Ashwabenon, and the cities, towns and villages in between. They represent the true heart and soul of America.
Hollywood is clueless to real American values!
If people haven't already done so, sign a petition for the Kedwards Campaign to release the video. It's on a link at

Let everyone get a look at the folks Kedwards thinks are the heart and soul of America.
I don't necessarily think that a petition will get things done, but if millions of people signed it, it might just make the news and send a message that Americans want to see whom a man who wants to be president considers to be the heart and soul of America.
Supposedly, there is a petition circulating to impeach President Bush, and they are said to have garnered some 200,000 signatures. THAT made the news, for sure.
I have 30 pieces of silver to donate to the cause...
you are correct. only word of a bootleg tape ready to be released to the highest bidder would get the tape released. I find it amusing people labor under the delusion we can deal with these people in a civil manner.
I'd be willing to bet that somewhere, somehow Karl Rove has gotten hold of a copy of the tape. Don't misunderestimate GWB's stratagery and its chief architect. :=)
I wonder if he is still married to wife #4. He is a lemon.
Later that night, Kerry and Edwards went on stage to tell the audience that, "Every performer tonight in their own way either verbally through their music or through their lyrics have conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country."
Perhaps some of the Dummocrats that heard that statement might rethink their definition of "Values" and realize just how far out of step their party really is. Realize that's asking a lot, but we can only hope.
