The womans arrogance and denial totally blows me away.

Apparently obeying the law is just for the little people. She is MARTHA STWEART and head and shoulders above the rest of us.

I'm sure she will make the best of her situation, once she gets her cell painted and meets her cellmate, "Maximum" Maxine.

I thought this was interesting.

"Because of her age -- she is 62 -- Stewart will be assigned to the bottom bunk because Danbury policy does not put women who are older than 50 on the top bed."

Just wondering if you feel the same way about Rush.

It annoyed me too. I do not like her attitude either but if I had been on the jury I would have acquitted. I'll never send anyone to jail for a lie when we have leaders in DC that you can't trust a foot and a POTUS that lied with no consequences.

Let's see-- seven hour work days, free board and room and up to 40 cents per hour free and clear-- that's better than I get after working 12 hour days, supporting my family and paying my taxes.

liars are everywhere.

Don't know that I would have acquitted her, but I do agree with you that it's aggravating that BillyJeff Clinton (BJ for short) lied when he was prez, continues to lie, and gets away with it everytime.

I just wrote Kmart a Email telling them that my family and I will not shop at Kmart anymore because Martha blames everyone else for having to go to prison. She can not accept responsibility for herself and what she did, and she got the minimum sentence. Until she appologizes for blameing others and accepts responsibility I will not trust her or support her, or any company that supports her. The courts are trying to protect us against corperate greed and if Kmar supports her they will not get any of my business. Here is the link. PING this please. http://www.kmartcorp.com/corp/cust_service/cust_service_km.stm

I just believe it's morally wrong to lie but should not be against the law unless you are under oath. I read somewhere on FR that it's a felony to lie to the FBI even if no oath taken. If this situation ever arrives I'll not say anything, not even good morning, without my lawyer present. This is going too far IMO.

Just wondering if you feel the same way about Rush.

If Rush Limbaugh broke the law, and there is no evidence that he did, he should get the disposition that other prescription drug addicts with no prior criminal history do: he should be monitored by the courts drug program and after a period of time the charges will be dropped. And this is what Roy Black originally offered to the prosecutors, the agenda-driven prosecutor however decided he would rather destroy Rush.

What most people conveniently fail to realize is that Martha Stewart was a licensed stock broker, she knows the laws about securities trading. She is not a person who, as a result of a back problem, inadvertently became addicted to prescription painkillers and then sought help for the problem. Martha Stewart is a lying theif.

LOL! I'm over 50, and when I go to Church camp each fall, I INSIST upon a top bunk. Many of the women considerably younger than I are always most grateful.

Thankfully, my kidneys are also still intact - I don't suffer from having to get up in the middle of the night, either.

I agree. I don't know if I would have acquitted or indicted, but probably the latter. Her arrogance is annoying, no surprise, but expected - she is a strong, dominant type. I think she will probably do better than most in prison.

While I agree she was certainly not completely innocent and absolutely should have known better - she was a stockbroker in a previous career!! - she is (if you follow this kind of stuff at all, and I do having had work experience in this area) almost being made a scapegoat. Like Hill & Bill and Whitewater or Michael Milkin and other stock market frauds, there are much bigger fish in the sea perpetrating much larger frauds and getting off scott free. A little part of me wonders who she pi$$ed off to get such focus thrown her way. Remember what a big deal she was, catering big affairs for the Hill & Bill group during his terms in office, and how their Hollywood connections helped set her up on TV. But the bottom line is, she is being punished.

Martha was at the Hollywood debut of Michael Moore's F 9/11 movie. Screw her.
