Driving, and the early vehicles people once drove, used to be so uncomplicated. Then somebody came up with the idea to put radios in cars. The rest is automotive history.

Now you can cruise down any highway -- or even walk through the mall parking lot -- and glimpse flickering images on video screens supposedly intended to occupy youngsters' minds. But not everybody is screening "SpongeBob SquarePants." Some adults are watching "Bob NoPants."

Porn has hit the highway, and parents with young, impressionable children aren't happy. "You're not allowed to have sex in your car, so why are you allowed to watch it?" asks one irate mom, whose young daughter spied a car DVD player that wasn't spinning cartoons.

Video screens should be banned from use in vehicles anyway.
They are a distraction from safe driving even when the viewers aren't perverts watching porn.

Some states are introducing laws for this, but IMO this is a problem that's very insignificant and shouldn't require another knee-jerk law that's going to create more problems than it solves.

"You're not allowed to have sex in your car, so why are you allowed to watch it?"

I guess some rules are meant to be broken then .... the first ... don't care about the second one.

""You're not allowed to have sex in your car..." asks one irate mom.

Her husband ought to take her to a drive in. Maybe she wouldn't be so irate.

I can't think of anybody who makes those buggy-whips in the United States, can you?

Oh, wait a second, doesn't the market create the demand and shouldn't be regulated? Oh, only in really, special cases. But wait a second, isn't that the sound of a million free marketeers spinning their heads and projecting swirled peas?

There's a pizza delivery guy who has a DVD player in his pickup. Sooner or later, he WILL have an accident. Then Dominos will be on the hook for the damages.

Hey Willie, I got an idea: Let's just ban driving. That ought to send a message to the .0001% of all the perverted motorists who view porn while driving. Then everyone can fufill your Marxist dream of taking mass transit or light rail systems.

I gotta better idea: let's ban jerks who can't resist initiating off-topic personal attacks on FR threads. They never have anything substantive to add to discussion anyway.

Look, Willie's right on this one too.  We're discussing sex in the car (re post  5) and Willie's reminding us not to forget the buggy whips (re post  6).

WildRock Equine. There is also a local tack shop here next to Penn National that makes everything.

I could be mistaken but didn't you post an article a little while back pointing out how many buggy-whip makers had been laid off?
