Mrs. Othniel and I took ballroom dancing classes a bunch of years ago. Of the six or so male teachers at the studio, only one was straight. The whole "ballroom dance culture" (if you'll insert a healthy guffaw at this point) gears up for an annual "showcase." This gives the different dancers a chance to show off the different dances they do with their instructor "partner," which they have paid hundreds of dollars for private lessons to learn. In many cases, it's the only chance for matronly types to dance with a hot stud (even if he does play the other side of the fence), and maybe for them it's worth it. Since these showcases call for gowns, tuxedos, hair/nails/makeup/shoes/official pins/etc., I smelled a racket pretty early. We don't do ballroom dancing anymore.
