Although they should have acted more quickly, Slim-Fast did the honorable thing by firing Whoopi Goldberg as spokesperson after her reported filthy rant against President Bush ("Shaking Whoopi Slim-Fast dumps Bush-bash star," July 15). Should the career of this has-been "entertainer" ever be resuscitated, her second-rate performances should be boycotted by all of us with consciences. Maybe she'll get the message that candidate John Kerry's idea of "the heart and soul of our country" and his idea of what passes for entertainment is not our idea. Maureen Abato Brooklyn

Whoopi should be ashamed of herself. I had always been a fan. Obviously, she does not know anything about boundaries. She used to be a figure that young African Americans could look up to, but name-calling and tacky, tasteless innuendoes do not make her look very bright now. The Democrats should be worried, if this is the kind of campaign that they are running. My mother was right, you cannot buy class. Joline Smith San Diego, Calif.
Whoopi Goldberg's comments at the fundraising at Radio City Music Hall were disgusting. I am a moderate with no particular interest in either party. But I support the president in a time of war. Goldberg showed that she doesn't have the intelligence to debate on the issues. Instead, all she could do was throw out cheap, crass talk. Shame on Kerry for not standing up for the honor and respect of the office that he wants to hold. Dave Thomas New Hyde Park

Yes, isn't it interesting how commie/fascist/socialist/evil Dums think only they have the right to speak their mind (or dirty mind)
Very Ammusing. Yes, lets remove an "N".
:^)
I'd be curious to know HOW MUCH it cost her? It could possibly make other companies skiddish of using her in the future.
Don't feel too bad. She'll probably release the tape just in time for EMMY nominations next year, and James Brolin, who will probably win this year, can hand present it to her. They can both win "Best Performance by an actor who turns off normal people with their vile schtick."
I would assume---if her agent was smart enough----that she has a terminaiton clause that says she'll still get paid if they drop her.
Probably dumb liberal Unilever (Slim-Fast owner) doesn't have auch a thing as a morals clause that terminates her for indecent bahavior.
"A sure fire way to spot a liberal is that they almost always believe that free speech is risk free"
A liberal believes that he or she can say anything that is necessary to vent their spleen because they are justified to an unlimited degree due to the fact that their ideology is good. To a lib, if it takes the "shock value" of mentioning a hyper-vulgar noun referring to a woman's vagina (mentioned over and over), so be it. The end justifies the means. If it takes hyper-vulgarity to get people's attention and get them to "think like we do" all well and good.
BUT...because conservatives are the God-believers, the holy rollers, the uncool ideological "bad guys", everything they say or do is suspect because it contributes to the "bad goal" of wrong ideology (no special rights for priviledged groups, no Socialism, less government, more freedom, moral values, etc etc etc)..
Is this a psychotic way of living? Of thinking? Why of course...but these people are emotion-driven and governed only by "the end justifies the means" so they see two different standards for the "good guys" (do whatever it takes) and "bad guys" (you creeps! You don't deserve to be free! We have the right to be bigoted toward you because you all are bigots to us!!!)
How else could you explain the fact that candidate Bill Clinton continually criticized both Reagan and Bush Sr.in 1992 yet two years later said that it ought to be against the law for a president to be criticized?
These people act like self-absorbed, deranged, spoiled-brat children.
Bud
We need to defend our interests against this foul-mouthed hater. She continued her nastiness in her first statement after Slim-Fast canned her.
I say we sue the pants off of her and file complaints against her for infringing on our civil and Constitutional rights and trampling on our freedom of expression. Whoopi has maligned and bad-mouthed law-abiding citizens, and inflicted emotional distress on Americans exercising their First Amendment rights.

And here I thought all this time that OPRAH starred in "The Color Purple!"
"I'd be curious to know HOW MUCH it cost her? It could possibly make other companies skiddish of using her in the future.'
When we defeat her elite white/honky limo driven master, al Queery this November, Whoopi will become another Ed Asner.
She will get some sops from the Left Wing Lunatics who control Follywood, but like Asner, no one will go near her with any big time offers.
I hope the Oscar Lunatics put her in as their Emcee again. That would be devastating to their audience #'s.
Whoopi is in the toaster now. She will soon be done.
Sounds about right to me...
What came out of Whoopie's mouth was filth and language unbecoming of a lady. But then again...
Don't waste even a smidgen of rancid butter on her toasted rump.
I have never been able to stand to look at Whoopie, even if she had said nothing about Bush.
Who? Moi?
